First American Corp. expands its title company holdings by buying two Tampa-based companies. The title companies purchased were Bayshore Title Insurance Co. and The Talon Group, both located in Tampa. Purchase prices were not disclosed, but we do know that First American was already worth $6.2 million, prior to buying its new holdings. [Tampa Bay Business Journal]

Taubman Centers, apparently not satisfied with its current stake in Tampa's International Plaza paid $104 million to increase its current stake in the Plaza by 22.6 percent. International Plaza's main anchor tenants are Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Dillard's and Lord & Taylor. Taubman purchased the 22.6 percent stake from Ivanhoe Cambridge, a Canadian firm. After the purchase Taubman's stake grew to 50.1 percent. [Globe St.]

Luxury home prices are going through the roof, and sellers are getting very close to asking price for what's selling, although it may take some time to sell. Is it a bubble waiting to burst?
