President Bush Could Hold a "Conference For A Cure"

As Natalie just pointed out, Type 1 diabetes, also known as "juvenile" diabetes, could likely very easily be cured.

With that in mind, and the simple fact that the costs of health care and health insurance continue to skyrocket toward the most ungodly levels seen since the thought of the first anti-Christ occurred, will President Bush use his leadership position to hold a "Conference For A Cure" to embrace curing disease?

Just think, he could rally health care leaders from all around the world - doctors, researchers, scientists, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, health insurance companies and everyone else who may have a stake in the cure of diabetes - to discuss ways to make the cure available to everyone across the globe.

After all, if we are to have an actual New World Order, which is what the war with Iraq appears to be all about creating, it should be a healthy Order shouldn't it?

We could even regain the allies we lost by going to war with Iraq by providing the cure to those nations' afflicted citizens and give their leaders credit for jumping on board the cure bandwagon.

Cures need to be embraced by our nations' leaders if they are to be created and distributed to the nations' people. This should be done by the United States and curing diseases should be at the top of our nation's list of goals. There is no excuse for the U.S. not to embrace cures. However, the U.S. embraces treatment, rather than cures. Does the U.S. do this simply to ensure pharmaceutical companies profits? If that is the case, perhaps we should simply leave them out of the decision making process, period.

If our government focused more on curing diseases, rather than on treating them, we probably would have cured quite a few of them by now, and American companies would not be suffering from the high cost of health insurance, which they currently do, if they still carry it. Many workers suffer from high bills because some companies have simply dropped health insurance due to its high cost. Cures would reduce costs, saving American companies and American workers millions. I bet some pharmaceutical companies hate hearing that, but it's the truth.
