I can't say Blackwell's blog had any effect on my opinion about buying Iraqi Dinars even though he compared the new Iraqi Dinar to the Turkish Lira. Most Americans will never invest in any of Iraq's banks. It will be very difficult for them to sell any of their Dinars because of that. Also, I haven't seen one online Dinar dealer who has promised to buy Iraqi Dinars in the future. About the only place you can try to sell them is on Ebay, but most people who buy currencies are only interested in rare currencies. It may take another 15 to 20 years for the Iraqi Dinar to become equal with the U.S. dollar. I can't imagine why anyone would want to pay a million U.S. dollars for a big bundle of Iraqi Dinars.

Um... wow.
Powerline 1, Blogcritics 0, an own-goal.
Like the Powerline guy says, you can't make this stuff up. :-)
Dinar ads are STILL on the top of this blog, Thursday morning at 10:50 am central time, even after all the fuss...
Just goes to show you... uh, something, I'm sure it goes to show you something.
128 - Nicelady
I am gonna be the first to say...shame on those involved at helping Ken.
Yes folks, i know who the majority of these people are , do not let them fool you.
I know the writing styles of most of you, i know the unscrupulous dealer who has illicted help in this charade.
Sales must really be bad, shame, shame, shame on you ALL!!
I find it typical liberal stance on blaming Powerline for their ad while sales must go on!!
I used to think there was a code of honor amongst even the lowest of the human species but evidently this one falls way short on morality.
This attack on Powerline is clearly one more liberal way of profiteering at your expense thru the underhanded ways they operate..
My sincere apologies to Powerline and its readers. I feel compeled to apologize for such aberrant behavior
Think about this the next time you vote..
129 - Pete Blackwell
Who is Ken? The guy from Jeopardy?
Who is the "unscrupulous dealer"?And please provide some context for this:
N.B. The "profiteering", as you call it, wouldn't be an issue had PL not directed its readers this way.
130 - Nicelady
no free advertisement needed, he achieved his objective.
How much was your cut Pete?
nevermind...i get the picture.
131 - Pete Blackwell
I'm intrigued, Nicelady, but I can honestly say I have no idea what you're talking about. Who is "he"?
My cut, by the way, was zero dollars and 50 lashes.
132 - Nicelady
B.S.--you are not the least bit intrigued...ya just got busted...
you keep asking me who "he" is....
why would i want to give you more publicity?
133 - Pete Blackwell
Seriously, you make no sense. If you're accusing me of something, please spell it out. You commenting on this thread is not giving me any publicity in the least.
134 - Alberta Patriot
Sorry Blackwell, you're still a hypocrite.
After discovering that Iraqi Dinar ads were appearing next to your piece here on Blogcritics, you should have had it pulled right away.
That your post remains here despite the knowledge that it has been doing so along with the prescence of the Dinar ads tells us that you appearantly believe in "dinar ads for me but not for thee".
135 - Pete Blackwell
I don't own this site. I couldn't have it pulled if I wanted to. I don't want to, however, for reasons explained somewhere in comments 1-133.
136 - Alberta Patriot
You own your own work, budy.
Pull it or shut it.
137 - Hunkydory
Yeah i hear there have been big counterfeit rings caught and would you suggest 'we buy dinar" from someone with a anti-counterfeit machine?
138 - Pete Blackwell
For what it's worth, I have turned my steely, hypocritical gaze on a liberal blog this time around. You're welcome to check it out.
139 - Pete Blackwell
Alberta, you don't know what you're talking about. I could pull the post from my personal blog if I wanted to. I don't have the capability to delete posts here. I wouldn't anyway, for reasons enumerated above.
140 - Alberta Patriot
Heh, you aren't even trying.
If you were really interested in avoiding the appearance of hipocrisy, you'd be calling your lawyer and having him call Blogcritics.org.
But hey, whatever it takes to sell YOUR iraqi dinars, right Blackwell?
141 - Pete Blackwell
Goodness gracious, Alberta, you're taking this way too seriously. I have told you twice now that I don't want to have my article removed. I have directed you to where you can find my rasons why. I have no dinars for sale and I have absolutely no need for a lawyer. Get real.
142 - Phillip Winn
Alberta Patriot, all articles posted here are published under a legal arrangement that does not leave Pete -- or any other author -- with the "right" to pull it. We're nice folks, and we'll work with people if there are problems, as we've done here by blocking the original ad URLs (it seems that there are a never-ending supply of them), but Pete simply could not have pulled his article. He did email us to ask what could be done, actually, but we don't break the internet by removing URLs once they're linked to.
So your bizarre rambling and baseless accusations are based on a false understanding of the arrangement under which Pete's article appears here. Thanks for playing, though.
143 - Pete Blackwell
For the record, I enquired specifically if there was anything to be done with the Google Ads. I didn't request that my article be pulled.
144 - Jeff
Blackwell is right. The new Iraqi Dinar will be worthless for years to come. I just checked Ebay, and there were almost 900 different items that came up when I did a search on Iraqi Dinar. Why would so many people be willing to sell their Iraqi Dinars if they were going to be worth a lot soon? These online dealers have been paying less than $700.00 for a million Iraqi Dinars, and they have been selling them for about $900.00 or more.
145 - Jeff
Think about this if you are still considering buying Iraqi Dinars. The new Iraqi Dinar has been circulating in Iraq for about three years now, but it is still worth much less than a penny. Where will you cash in your Iraqi Dinars if they do increase in value? I have looked everywhere online. None of the dealers have promised to buy Iraqi Dinars in the future. It would be a complete waste of money to buy any Iraqi Dinars right now because of that. One online dealer does make the offer to buy Iraqi Dinars, but an offer is not a promise. You could still be stuck with hundreds or even millions of Iraqi Dinars if you do not make sure someone will buy your Iraqi Dinars in the future.
146 - Mr. Real Estate
Yeah, I think I'll stick with real estate.
147 - PWN3D
Oh man, you totally got humiliated.
Rather than try to split hairs and explain your way out of this one, you should just stop posting, change your name, and start again someplace else. You know, China bans most of the Internet, so probably you will find some people there who aren't laughing at you... yet.
Better luck in the next life.
148 - Dave Nalle
Wow, wish I'd found this thread earlier. Didn't realize there were so many self-righteous and yet ill-informed people available to make idiotic attack comments.
They say a fool and his money are soon parted. I guess they're counting on the fact that a lot of fools read Power Line.
And every other site carrying Google Ads, an accurate assessment as demonstrated by those responding on this thread.

This is for all the whiners out there who are all over Mr. Blackwell because Google decides to run ads hustling the same worthless currency he is pinioning...
On many of the articles I post at Blog Critics, some dip at Google decides to run something like "the truth about Jesus," or some garbage like that hustling Christianity. I like it as much as Mr. Blackwell likes Google running ads hustling Iraqi dinars nest to his article. But given that if Mr. Blackwell wants to get read, he plays in Google's ball park. Running the ads is Google's gig, not his.
That's American capitalist culture for you. Deal with it, or move to another planet.
150 - Alberta Patriot
Oh, looky here. It seems that you-know-who is reporting that the Iraqi Dinar is RISING against the Kuwaiti Dinar, the Iranian Rial AND the almighty US dollar.
powerlineblog.com article
Looks like Mr. Blackwell made a wise decision to showcase his work on a site that advertises Iraqi dinars.
Is that apology coming anytime soon, Pete?

"This is for all the whiners out there who are all over Mr. Blackwell because Google decides to run ads hustling the same worthless currency he is pinioning..."

Establishing your Pete Blackwell fan club bona fides, eh, Ruvy?

-Dave Nalle
LOL. I'll take self righteous (ahem) over paranoid delusional any day.
Quite a fan club here.
153 - Ruvy from Jerusalem
I never joined a fan club in my life, mikem. Don't intend to start now.
Reading trashy comments like yours could almost persuade me to join a personal attacks fan club, but there it is hard to be imaginitive with the personal attacks and not be censo(u)red for it.
Let's put it this way, mikem. You're not worth the effort.
154 - mikem
Beautiful. My comment is "trashy" apparantly because I point out your bigoted remark. Just wonderous.
155 - Clavos
Ruvy, mikem:
Ever heard of ad hominem? One thing I hate about all these comment threads: inevitably, they descend to the level of kindergarten squabbling.

I know you are but what am I?

Q.E.D.
158 - mikem
Damn. I thought for sure you would get it. Oh well.
159 - Dave Nalle
So somehow I'm now paranolid and delusional because I maintain my guns properly and store enough food for my family if there's a major power outage or a natural disaster? Come again? Last I checked the DHS was telling all of us to store a month's worth of canned and dry goods.
Dave
160 - MCH
Well, the hiding-out in a fortified compound and the killing of any stray dog that happens to get too close may have something to do with it, also...
161 - Dave Nalle
Not stray dogs, MCH - feral dogs. If a neighbor's pet gets in here that's not a problem. The problem is the packs of feral dogs that roam the area because people dump unwanted puppies out here and they grow up wild. Sorry, my chickens and geese are more valuable to me than a killer dog.
162 - Dave Nalle
Of course, some the apocalypse we might need to hunt and eat the feral dogs...

163 - DILL
any idiots gonna comment on the underlying "point". you morons need to wipe the jit off your face, 162 comments about google ads that anybody with common sense would know are auto placed using text/word recognition to place ads on pages that make sense to put them on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
164 - mikem
And Dill makes it 163.
165 - Ruvy from Jerusalem
Dave at comment #159.
Forget the idiots who imply that you are either paranoid or delusional.
If you are going to store one month of food, store (at least) one month of water also. But don't leave it in the plastic bottles, store it in glass bottles. Plastic leaches into the water. That's why bottled water has expiration dates, BTW.
As to comment #162, neither are kosher, but rabbit probably tastes better than dog...

I was searching for info on the new Iraqi Dinar, came across this post and continued reading. The level of personal attack spread throughout this discussion is unfathomable. I would be interested to see the outcome if most of the people here were gathered up and placed in a room with baseball bats in their hands.
What should have been a simple discussion about the Iraqi Dinar, its outlook (good or bad), opinions and/or advice, and the related scams appears to have turned into an abysmal display of epic proportions. Especially Papagresh...talk about someone who loves to either listen to themself talk or the resulting spewage from behind a keyboard. Sheesh.

Re:Iraq Dinar,
If you want to invest in Iraq Dinar, then invest.
If you dont want to invest, well its easy, dont do it.
No one is holding a gun to anyones head.
If you, with your viewpoint think its stupid irresposible and a scam. No problem.
If you despite what all the naysayers are saying, think it may pay out. All the power to you.
The worst thing is when one gets so stuck in a viewpoint that he/she goes on a crusade to convince the other party, (the sinner) how stupit he is.
It's like listen to a fanatic religious preacher, the preacher always takes the moral high ground, and for him it's always a matter for the sinning party to understand him.
It's never a two way communication, with shared ideas, kicking viewpoints around, looking at different questions, it's always a one way street where the other party is doomed, stupid and will burn in hell.
I found this site, read it, and must say that most participants here must be in the age of seven to nine.
It seems that there are actually some, that are trying to have a decent discussion about the Iraq Dinar, but are completely overwhelmed by individuals that have the idea that the sun rises and sets in their ass, and the universe rotates around THEM.
They know best, and again its just a matter for the stupid crowd to understand THEM, and then there will be peace in the valley.
Dear God, save me from your followers.
168 - Don
Amen! I checked back just to see if anyone posted any good info on the Dinar investement opportunity/scam...whatever. Maybe they all wore themselves out! ;-)
And you are right. There were some who attempted to bring the focus back into the conversation but the all-knowing just continued on with their self-righteous blabber.
Oh well!
169 - mikem
Ya gotta laugh.
Roger goes on and on about how everyone else went on and on without discussing dinars without even a hint that he understands the irony. I love the part where he calls others "stupit". (chuckle)
And the final, self satisfying completely off topic "Dear God, save me from your followers". Just out of habit, I guess, to insult people of faith. That nice warm smug feeling.
Thanks for sharing, Rog.
170 - Scott
Hey,
Instead of all your whining, why don't you just either buy some Dinar and hold it...or NOT. Either way it is a personal choice. As a member of the U.S. Military, I purchased a couple million dinar..so what. If it goes up, I get my Porsche, if it doesn't then I'm out a couple thousand dollars...so what.
Isn't all investing and speculation a risk. I'd really have felt like a jackass if I DIDN'T buy some, it shot up and I saw an opportunity pass.
Either way, most of you sound like a bunch of bitches.
171 - Pete Blackwell
Yes, all investing is speculation and risk. Some investments way, way, way more so than others. If you can afford to lose your investment, then I agree, so what. But, if you invest on the assumption that what you're being told about the "historic value" of the dinar has some basis in reality and you really can't afford to lose everything, then you might want to hear about this investment scheme that is widely regarded as a scam.
172 - SHERRY
YOU CAN CASH IN YOUR DINAR AT ANY BANK THAT DOES FOREING CURRENCY EXCHANGES. IRAC HAS TO HAVE MONEY RIGHT?
173 - Pete Blackwell
The Iraqi Dinar is not traded on the open currency market so you cannot exchange it. Pretty much anywhere. You need to find someone willing to buy them, which isn't easy, hence this scam. The whole point is to get you to buy dinars.
174 - My3Sons
Once Iraq meets all the requirements to join the IMF, then any bank in a country that belongs to the IMF that deals with foreign currency exchange must honor the exchange. The New Iraqi Dinar has been stable since its inception. For three years now, it has fluctuated just a little. We are dealing with money here. Money is money. Wants Iraq joins the IMF, then investors will be able to exchange. Some financial institutions are exchanging the currency now. I would have a hard time believing the currency would raise to the value those ads are suggesting; however, I do see an emerging economy that gives the power of the currency to raise in value in the future.
175 - My3Sons
Oh, as far as advertising on a site, that does not mean you endorse the product. I work for a CBS affiliate and we have ads on our website. We don't endorse the products. We sell the space and collect the money, that is all we care about. I guess television stations endorse cancer since they show NASCAR races with cars having tobacco ads on their cars. They know their is cars with these type of ads in the race before it ever begins. Heck, we put political ads on the air that we don't agree with. We even put infomercials on the air. When that guy was selling the book to cure all types of illness's that was later be found a fraud, we weren't sued over the infomercial because we did not endorse it. Pete, wake up, it is business.
