Oscars the Grouch

It's the second most important day ever in America (after the Super Bowl) Document the atrocities. Best joke? Best speech? Where did Chris Rock bomb?

Why does this night exist? If I had time I might watch it. i am recording on the off-chance that I find tme. Also, that way I can F-forward over the bits I don't care about.

Who showed the most cleavage? Other than Joan and Melissa Rivers who was the most hideous? Who was the best presenter?

Despite the fact that I haven't yet seen any of the other performances up for the award, I'm going to go ahead and say that Natalie Portman damn well better win best supporting actress for her work in Closer.

I liked the idea that they didn't make everyne go up on stage

I stil haven't watched - only a few seconds here and there.

Speeches still looked boring as all heck. I haven't seen Million Dollar Baby or Aviator so I'm pretty much non-qualified to comment much about worthiness. Anything Clint Eastwood is involved in (Any Which way but loose ?????) is almost guaranteed to be good however.

I turned it on just as they got ready to give the best movie award. Who twisted Dustin Hoffman's arm (and how hard) to get him up there as presenter? The only thing I've ever seen more wooden than his speech is standing in front of a cigar store.

Why did they have Beyonce' perform three of the songs? I heard they had Minnie Driver (the original singer for the song) lined up for Learn To Be Lonely then dumped her for Beyonce'. Why would they do that? And why did she need to butt in the song Believe with Josh Groban? I'm quite sure he could carry the song on his own. I didn't like how they didn't blend so I turned it off because it was making me sick. I think a lil more variety would have had more class.
