Saying goodbye to Bob Lassiter, an unlikely personal hero who became my mentor, my model.

I've never even been to Tampa Bay. I've visited Chicago once--in summer 1989, for a Cubs game--and I never turned on the radio during that visit. So it makes absolutely no sense that the work of a local talk-radio star in those two cities should come to mean so much to me, have such a profound effect on my life. But when Bob Lassiter signed off his blog for good yesterday in order to live his last days in privacy, I knew it was time to pay homage to a man I never met or heard in his prime.…

    I got to listen to Bob in the mid 90's on WSUN mostly.........ahhh, my favorite radio personality ever, I was so sad to hear of his passing about a year ago....and Mr. West, this is the best article I've seen yet on Bob Lassiter. And I am currently listening to all the airchecks, what a great orator......I miss you BOB..

    all i can say..is that i was listening to this guy before i had a political view...now a conservative in 2009..i think bob was very even..and made alot of sence to me. a radio talk show that made sence...except..some of the callers..lol.

    we miss you Bob:-)
