Episode #005 finds Herself and I alone in the studio, at long last. It sure has been a week! Actually, more than a week, but who's counting?

Complete schedule of the show:

00:00 Welcome

00:37 ♩ "Opera Singer" by Cake from Comfort Eagle

01:02 Meet the Family: Settling down

05:19 ♩ "By Myself" by PFR from Goldie's Last Day

05:35 First Date: In which Herself invents a fake backstory for our lives

10:24 ♩ "Shiver" by Maroon 5 from Songs About Jane

10:41 Books In Print: Freakonomics by Steven D Levitt

17:42 ♩ "Just Friends" by Gavin DeGraw from Chariot
17:55 Sweet Romance: Effective (?!) pickup lines and frugal (!?) dates

23:00 ♩ "Come Out And Play" by The Offspring from Smash

23:05 Wrap-up

25:44 ♩ "Take Back the Beat" by Church of Rhythm from Church of Rhythm

26:10 End of podcast

As the short durations probably make clear, the listed songs are excerpted very briefly.

Freakonomics is worth reading, despite my disdain for the hype.

This week's new bumper music comes from Gavin DeGraw's album Chariot. Somewhat unexpectedly, it immediately follows the statement that "everybody cheats," which is almost ironic, given that the song is about a cheating girlfriend. Of course, since I'm just using a piano intro, you wouldn't know that without buying the album. Which you should do.
