A meandering trip through time and space, while introducing a new family member; new to you, anyway.

Complete schedule of the show:

00:00 Welcome

00:14 ♩ "Opera Singer" by Cake from Comfort Eagle

00:39 Meet the Family: Welcome to Jono! We're going to see Totem, while Herself contemplates "foot reflexology."

05:08 ♩ "Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop)" by Scatman John from The Best of Scatman John

05:14 Mish-mash: Gravesites, Ghosts, and Hay. Also, Melatonin, Usborne books, and National Geographic Magazine.

16:37 ♩ "Shiver" by Maroon 5 from Songs About Jane

16:54 Celebrity Interview: Talking with Adam Goldberg about a Blogcritics.org post on which he commented.

27:15 ♩ "Come Out And Play" by The Offspring from Smash

27:21 Wrap-up: In which we explore the wonders of the jawfish

29:41 ♩ "Take Back the Beat" by Church of Rhythm from Church of Rhythm

30:07 End of podcast

As the short durations probably make clear, the listed songs are excerpted very briefly.

Jono deserves a fan club, I think. We recorded this one on Friday night, but we're releasing it on-schedule on Monday.

We're listed on Podcast Alley, Odeo, and iTunes. As well as, of course, here.

At least you gave me the weekend, right? Downloading...

Indeed -- I sat on it with you in mind!

No, not really; that's just a happy benefit. I delayed it because (a) very shortly after recording the show, Jono and I headed downtown for the rock show we mention in the podcast, and (b) it was a busy weekend.

Another happy benefit is that since I'm publishing this one today, I guess that fulfills our quota for the week, so we won't record another one until next week. Unless I get itchy.

I swear, we could do a show five days a week if we thought anybody would listen.

I like Jono. Nice bust on the Neil Young/Bob Dylan.

Herself seems entirely too sensible to plan to get poison ivy. ;)

I can't believe I mixed that up. I wanted to edit that out!

I still can't stand Neil Young. I love Bob Dylan, though he is a better songwriter than singer.

She didn't get poison ivy, and bonus: they found a snake!

hmmm...not liking Neil Young comes close to minus points, though i supposed it's not as bad as uncomfortable talk of third nipples and such.

It's his voice. You can't tell me you love to listen to him sing. You just can't.

You might enjoy him despite his voice (I don't), but that's it.

Actually, Phillip I am with you on Mr. Young. I agree with you about his voice. I know he's revered by millions, but...

Oh... and I chuckled at the suggestion of Jono being foul mouthed. I guess anyone who listens to my podcast would understand why.

Yeah, foul-mouthed by comparison. He's 14, ya know? Besides, it was one of his cleaner-mouthed half-hours without either parent around.

    Er, don't tell anyone. :-)

actually, i'm a big fan of all sorts of weird voices: Rickie Lee Jones, Tom Waits, Bjork, Kate Bush, etc.

I love Bjork and am ambivalent-to-positive on Tom Waits, but Neil Young is more like "Tiny Tim" to my ears.

For some reason I find Young overbearing. I guess that is the best word I can think of.

Neil Young has one of those voices that sits real well after a few beers and a couple of shots.

    Nice...I knew I liked you, Joan! :)

You weren't even mentioned by name, and weren't alone in your bizarre reaction to AG that weekend.

I know I won't beat your #010 but I did begin recording of Episode 6 last night. I am on a rooooooooooll (tide)!

I don't think we're recording #010 until next day, a special "Columbus Day" edition. You've got time!
