NY Times Reporter Suspended

The Columbia Journalism Review and MSNBC are reporting that The New York Times has suspended Rick Bragg for two weeks for not sharing credit with the freelance journalist who did most of the reporting on a story about Florida oystermen.

Apparently the Times is combing through the ranks looking for other likely suspects now that Jayson Blair has been outed as a serial fabulist.

The case of Bragg is a shame for me personally, as I enjoyed reading his book of newspaper stories, as well as following his articles in the Times. Also apparently however, it may prove to be the case that Bragg's work was always so good because he was making it up!
