Alan Murray, Washington bureau chief of CNBC, quoted in Tuesday's Wall St. Journal.
He was speaking of the photos from Iraq now circulating world-wide online, even as the Pentagon and Senate Intelligence Committee attempt to restrict access among their own employees.
Donald Rumsfeld, he of the memorable crack about "Old Europe," ironically became the poster boy for old thinking last week when he decried the release of the photos by the New Yorker to media world-wide before even he was able to see them.
Smart and experienced as he is, he still doesn't realize that top-down is over: the internet has so leveled the playing field that those used to being King Shit, on top of the pyramid tossing their debris over their shoulders onto the backs of us peons on the ground, no longer have any clothes.
I like it this way. A lot.
Fast, cheap, and out of control describes me perfectly. To a "T."
