I didn't really think that Nicole meant she was "in" love with him, but the fact that she still had love for him after his post-divorce display is befuddling in the least. Having survived two parental divorces in my lifetime, let me assure you RARELY is there any love left after a divorce, especially when one is left during a pregnancy.
Women don't go for that kind of shit.
I would be shocked if Tom splits with Kate anytime soon, but it will happen eventually, mark my word.

Being left during a pregnancy is probably more traumatic for mere mortals down here in the mundane world, who have to worry about being able to pay for things like food, clothing, shelter, and the children's college tuition.
Of course it's still a low blow on the emotional level, even for the highest of Hollywood's glittering pantheon. Yet the absence of immediate threats to one's survival might help one maintain a more forgiving attitude afterward.

When Nicole says, "I love Tom," I interpret that to mean, "I want the public to believe that I love Tom."
The question is not why she loves Tom, but why is she spinning her PR to suggest that she loves Tom.
My guess is that Nicole is spinning this story because Tom is a bigger star than her, and especially now is getting more press that she is. So by releasing this story, Nicole (1) gets to coattail on his current publicity, and (2) may generate some public sympathy as the "loving wife" who was betrayed but bears no grudge.

I am just guessing that Nicole would have won an Oscar anyway. She is truly an excellent actor. I also (I can't believe I am going to say this) think that celebrities get hurt in real world ways. It's entirely possible that Nicole really was in love with Tom. She seems unique in her ability to be a real human and a superhuman.
That's why I like her so much more than most celebrities. I wish her happiness. For Tom, I wish for a cure.

I also think it's very silly to:
(1) think that you like or dislike a celeb on a personal level
(2) think that you have any insight concerning the personal lives of celebs
(3) care about the personal lives of celebs
(4) waste any time reading about the private lives of celebs (I fell into the trap this time)
(5) base your decisions as a consumer of celeb products, such as movies, on whether or not you think you approve of a celeb at a personal level
(6) believe that celebs, such a Kidman, are more physically attractive than everyone in your city
(7) believe that their comments on matters outside their profession are more insightful and informed than, say, an assistant manager at Burger King

I'm a little confused. Tom was married to Mia Sarah whom he starred with in the movie 'Legend'. It was rumored that she divorced him because he was sterile and she wanted children. When Tom and Nicole adopted their kids the old rumors surfaced and everyone was like: Oh yeah, he's sterile. When Nicole was rumored to be pregnant after the big bang {no pun intended} people kinda thought maybe she'd had an affair. Now he's fathered a child with Katie and I'm thinking there are some key elements missing. Did he undergo some psychadelic Scientology ritual and his gear is working again? Maybe an alien cloned him and the 'old Tom' now inhabits a planet where the earthly rejects go.

I always thought Tom and Nicole were a mismatch. But it's not strange to "love" the "father" of your children. I doubt she meant she was "in love." There are different kinds of love. I doubt she wants to go back to him. He seems arrogant, braggy and obnoxious. Great actor though. I'm not sure I want to see her marry keith. The constant postponements on their rumored wedding dates has me wondering what her real intentions are toward him. They both seem too big, big in their careers, big names, to make a marriage work.
