Munch's The Scream Stolen

It looks as though one version of Edvard Munch's famous painting, The Scream, has been stolen from the Munch Gallery in Oslo, Norway during a rare daylight armed robbery. One of four versions, it has been valued at somewhere between 60 million to 75 million dollars. Authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects and the artwork was apparently not insured against theft. This is the second time a version of this painting has been stolen, the first being in 1994.

Er...yeah, but your post was more about the work of Munch, and I wanted to submit a few details and links about the robbery and include Amazon links to books about museum security.

And I didn't use the word "crap" in my post.

hi Emily, welcome back! I want "The Scream" for my hallway, but not my bedroom - think I can get it on the cheap?

    Eric,
Have you checked allposters.com or seen if there are poster vendors on e-Bay? Give those a try.

Oooo...legal art copies are pretty hard to come by and folks that are good at creating them have more than a few pair of eyes on them!

I figured as much, Eric. Unfortunately, I'm in the awkward position of not being in close contact with the thieves. Though I did have this once great night on the town in Mexico thanks to a spectacularly hot Norwegian art dealer. Do you think he's behind it?

Eric, if you want some good illicit art, you might contact Phoenix Galleries in New York.

Ask for either one of the Aboutaam brothers. Only one has been convicted of smuggling, so you have a 50-50 chance of NOT getting a criminal.

Or you might talk to Katharine Lee Reid, director at your nearby Cleveland Museum of Art.

She knows the Aboutaam brothers, and recently purchased a 'questionable' item from them. I'll bet somebody in that crew can rustle up a Scream for ya.

Outside of the "tits" reference I'd say you are 101% correct there, Tommy boy.
