Montreal Subway: And the Wall Came Crumbling Down - Page 2

But this still didn’t stop me from taking some pictures, though covertly, so you’ll excuse the image quality.

Here we have a picture I took later in the afternoon, post-clean-up. But right above the escalators you can see a big chunk of wall missing. That's the part that fell off. Again, I don't think anyone got hurt. Luckily, because that escalator is full of high traffic when the subway from the south shore empties.

Here's a close up of the missing wall.

Here you can see by comparing with the left, the thickness of the wall that fell from about 15 feet up in the air.

Some pictures of the debris. These pictures are as close as I could get while the debris was still on the floor.

No one got hurt, the security guards got to feel their sticks, a Heck-of-a-job-Brownie bureaucrat got to have his little crisis management power trip and get to keep his teeth. I got to be my scathing self and "provide much needed sarcasm". But I fear I got pictures of a disaster waiting to happen, that soon enough another wall will fall and someone is gonna bite it. That it's only a matter of time before all the patch-work repairs fail and someone pays the ultimate price of incompetence, a life.

    Nice article

    I only have three comments.

    1. Learn to take pictures on the sly in casse the rental cops feel the need to actually acclimatise themselves with their rental clubs.

    2. For all of you complaints, the Montréal subway looked awfully clean.

    3. Your subway system is a "Versailles Wedding Hall" disaster waiting to happen.

    Good luck riding.

    Thanks Ruvy.

1- I'm still learning a lot and my cam is a cheapy also.

2- It's clean on the surface. Just like a dry crakeling cake with a good coating of icing on it.

3- After looking up the Versailles Wedding Hall disaster, I would agree.
