Lustful Sex is Good

Have you heard about the new Carl's Jr. commercial with Paris Hilton? This commercial is hot, it sizzles, it is provactive and sexy. In fact, it was so popular that it crashed Carl's Jr. server right after it came out.

Some are calling the commercial soft porn, and Carl's Jr. even decided to post on their website called Spicy Paris a different version that was not fit for television.

The point of the commercial is to sell the Carl's Jr. new spice BBQ burger, as we see Paris wash herself with car soap while washing a car. At the very end she takes a bite of the burger.

Carl's Jr. has lost its corporate mind, and I wonder if the founder of this company, if he was still living, would appreciate this type of marketing being associated with his good name. To my knowledge, Carl N. Karcher, the founder of Carl's Jr., was a Christian, and he founded this company on Christian principles and morals. Promoting a hamburger using lustful sex is something I'm confident Mr. Karcher would have never done or approved of.

In fact, I believe he would be very upset because the mindset of lust is very dangerous and destructive. Steve Gallagher, Founder of Pure Life Ministries has written a great article called The Dangerous Mindset of Lust. It discusses not only the temptation and the tendency for men in the church to fall into this sin, but also calls to mind that God hates the sin and we should too.

However, the world in all its earthly wisdom thinks that lustful sex is good. The problem is that lustful sex is only good for things of this world. Sure, sex sells. It's being used to sell a hamburger! But sex was never intended to be used to sell a hamburger.

In fact, the very act of sexual intimacy was designed by God for a man and a woman to share in the bonds of marriage. This is the only place sex should ever be discussed. And this writer is outraged that a former family restaurant has turned the tide and walked the way of the wicked. I'll no longer be buying anything from Carl's Jr. because the way they market their food is anything but moral or acceptable.

    duh.

Oh - and the Carl Jr's ad also smacks of sad desperation. I mean - Paris "if I swallowed a burger it would double my weight" Hilton? Makes me kinda lose my appetite.

Why are some people so uptight about sex

similarly like minded posts that have

Who cares about the lustfulness of it, and who cares about your dictatorial Christian values?

I will admit that it would have been cooler if it was Paris barfing up the burger as I'm sure she did right after the shoot.

However, the world in all its earthly wisdom thinks that lustful sex is good.

Well, it's certainly better than lust-free sex.

Stacy, I think your point about the Hilton ad v. the company founder's original intentions is a valid one, but it gets lost in the talk about sin and wickedness. [It's also quite a bummer to read about sin and wickedness, when the title promised good, lustful sex!]

Oh,and I have no idea why the Amazon links won't show up. I've tried to edit them, to no avail.

besides, that would mean setting up my own blog...and tho i am fairly certain some find my mad rantings mildly entertaining, i remain doubtful that full editorial screeds would advance Enlightened discussion as much as be a magnet for outrage among a certain segment of the new crop

however, that being said for the Record...i AM sorely Tempted, if only to be a stubborn bastard imitating a willow in the proverbial hurricane

I think the marketing behind Paris is so that men will drool and then want the burger.

It's probably a more effective sales method than saying 'Jesus died an agonizing death so that you may live and partake of this burger. Dig in'.

Since Christians are trying so persistently to make commercials, products, tv shows, court rulings, science classes, etc. all be exclusively Christian, why don't you all just go watch the 700 club and create a Christian Home SHopping Network and celebrate your own values by patronizing those instead of trying to impose them on the rest of the country? If you don't want to do business with some corporation that doesn't toe your religious line, good luck ever visiting anywhere else in the world. You'll just have to stay in your own little box.

And yes, I agree with the title, Lustful Sex is Good, and I agree that it's enhanced beyond competition within the confines of a monogamous relationship. If watching that commercial, or one of similiar risque quality for my own tastes were to weaken my relationship, then I got far bigger problems than what's on the tube.

Besides, no amount of gyration can change the fact that the meat is still rubbery.

(Now is that not a sentence of the day, or what?)

Did any one else see the bump ( cyst,or what ever it was ) on the bottom left side of Paris Hilton's mouth. Cosmetics couldn't hide that thing. It is about a eighth of an inch long. ( GROSS ) As I ran the video I played with the back button, and created some real entertainment. Her nose stretched half the distance of the sandwich.

As she bites the burger.. It falls apart look very close. It isn't beef. It is chicken!

Ha.. ha.. ha. Paris didn't bite beef. Nicolette.. I believe they did serve false advertisement.

Karls burgers have always been messy, and hers wasn't so it wasn't representive of what they serve.

Just a note, I didn't choose this book for advertising, I picked a book that was at Amazon.com that had to do with breaking free from lust.

The M.S., is for Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology

Stacy, feel free to change the Amazon items. Just make sure you don't add any carriage returns after the last ASIN number. That was keeping your Amazon item from showing up, so in the process of trying to figure out what the problem was, I tried different ASINs.
