Dumbasses plunge down elevator shaft:
- Two men fighting over counterfeit compact discs at a Midtown Manhattan office building fell through the broken doors of a fourth-floor elevator entrance Friday afternoon, plummeting three floors and hitting a stopped car, police said.
Robert Haynes, 34, and Mohammad Bahr, 26, suffered leg fractures along with head, neck and back injuries. Both were in critical condition.
Bahr was easily removed from the shaft because he was on top of the elevator, said police Sgt. Edward Allen. It took rescuers about 20 minutes to remove Haynes because he was wedged between the elevator car and the wall. [Chicago Tribune]
