Some days.
Poetry drips off my tongue.
Into the endless epitaphs.
And hypnotic laws of
Cause and effect.
The lyrics say:
"We live in a beautiful world..."
But the news.
Speaks differently...
"FIRE ROARS THROUGH PARISIAN APARTMENT BUILDING."
Filled with migrants.
And their babes.
Drunk on the notion.
Of a New World.
Kinder than the last.
But no less deadly.
"We just saw the bodies of seven children who were asphyxiated.
It's an abominable spectacle..."
- Interior Minister, Nicolas Sarkozy.
Casualties.
Small.
Insignificant...
Or maybe.
Not so...
And now...
Just cinders on the wind.
* *
RIP.
