Our minds have a tremendous ability to affect our physical bodies. What we visualize in our minds directly affects the physiology of our bodies. It has been found that positive and creative visualizations foster healing in our bodies because our mind and body are connected.
Even cancer patients have found that guided imagery reduces pain and, in fact, the Sloan Kettering memorial Cancer Center and The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center have concluded after several studies that patients who participated in guided imagery had a significant reduction in cancer pain.
What we believe matters.
Ever hear the phrase, “We become what we think?” It is true when it comes to healing. Our minds are connected to our body, so our thoughts affect our health. This is the law of attraction at work concerning our physical makeup.
The law of attraction is a law that asserts that like attracts like. In other words, regarding healing and the mind, what you think about you will attract. If you think positive thoughts about your health, recite positive affirmations, and believe them to be true, the law of attraction states that positive health will manifest in your life.
Have you ever known a deeply negative person who continually complains of how terrible their life is or how sick they always are? As a by-product of their negative thinking and confessions, they are attracting negative situations and conditions into their lives.

What is the mind-body connection?
Our emotions affect our bodies. For example, when something frightens you, you may get goose bumps, which means that your senses produced the emotion of fear, which in turn caused your physical body to produce goose bumps. This is a physical reaction based upon your emotions in your mind.
Does what we think really affect our physical health?
Our hypothalamus in our brain is the emotional center and it changes emotions into physical responses. Our thoughts affect our bodies more so than we think. For instance, when something scares us and we feel afraid, adrenaline is produced in our bodies, so the emotion of fear caused that adrenaline to be formed. The mind affected the physical body.
