Of this candidate,
You must admit that he wakes
Up daily at six o' clock
And eats a hearty breakfast,
Eggs and bacon,
Before a brisk morning constitutional
With his scrappy mutt 'Chowder'
And then he goes off
Into the dark coal mines.
Then he shakes hands all round
And poses for photgraphs
In his dented helmet--
You must admit that he cuts
A striking figure.
Just lovely.
So you see that
These petty disagreements
On matters of principle
And religion
Are only trifles
When held up to the strength
Of the candidates commitment
To common man, common law,
Common domesticated cattle,
Common farm implements,
And all other things common.
The world over, we all love
How he stands so erect
At the heads of parades,
And how he bends down
To shake your hand.
