Got Porn? What Are Some Great Erotic Movies to Get Her in the Mood?

Fact is most women aren't turned on by the hardcore stuff you see on pay-per-view and the Playboy channel. It's just a little too over-the-top for most women. For this reason a lot of men think women don't like watching sex movies. Nothing could be further from the truth — women just have slightly different tastes.

The hardcore stuff may work for the guys, but chances are it'll do little or nothing for her. She most likely wants something with a little more warm-up time and some intellectual stimulation, with a little slow seduction mixed in. And I think most guys will agree that it's well worth the extra time to get their partner as revved up as they are.

So how about finding some hot, steamy, sexy movies that will get you both excited and ready for a memorable night of hot, passionate, sexual adventure?

There are quite a few options in the erotic thriller category, many of which are truly good quality movies that include a real plot and real characters with depth — the kind you can actually relate to.

An erotic thriller should have the key ingredients to get you both going in the right direction: sexual attraction and lust, a little danger and excitement, sexual intrigue or forbidden passions, and slow seduction.

Here are some recommended erotic thrillers:

  • 9 1/2 Weeks
  • Another 9 1/2 Weeks
  • Wild Orchid
  • Basic Instinct
  • Sliver (Unrated Edition)
  • Two Moon Junction

Start with these and see what happens.

Get a couple of these and plan to stay in for a hot movie date with your partner. See how you two feel when things start to get hot; and guys, when you start to get really excited, wait another 15 minutes to give her time to catch up...

Wow, that's a deep, long, article, and insightful films.

Try Tinto Brass, The Pet, Red Shoe Diaries, The Diary series.

Yes, these will no doubt be quite "intellectually stimulating" for women who read Harlequin romances and whose I.Q. registers somewhere in the mid to upper two digits. "Two Moon Junction," I'll admit, is a hilariously bad movie that is good for a few cheap laughs, and will no doubt spark a lively discussion on why Sherilyn Fenn's carpet never matches her drapes. As for the others, well ... let's just say I've always had a Mickey Rourke problem, and the idea that such an odious hunk of shit would slightly moisten, let alone dampen, the panties of any woman just strikes me as weird. All the way through Nine and A Half Weeks I kept yelling at the screen: "Kick him in the nuts, you stupid whore!" Then again, who can account for sexual tastes? Given the fact that we live in a de-evolutionizing world where people only get dumber and coarser and more backwards, where every other week we read in the paper about some middle-school teacher seducing a pre-pubescent boy, I guess the appeal of Mickey Rourke makes sense. And, too, I'm a guy who thinks men are ugly in general. Anyway, your list is a real turn-off. Maybe it's better to find someone who likes what you like, who shares your interests, who laughs at your jokes and so forth, rather than try to bag some brainless piece of tail for the price of a Blockbuster rental, you know?

Two very good erotic movies that are little know are 9 Songs & Lie with Me. They have wonderful erotic love scenes with great story lines. You really connect and feel the emotion with the characters. You can find them through the bmoviesandmore link.

I'll recommend The Unbearable Lightness of Being and Lady Chatterly's Lover.

Trailers: Lady Chatterley's Lover (the music is not from the trailer but it was the best of the two available) and The Unbearable Lightness of Being.

9 1/2 weeks, my opinion: The food scene (before we actually know what is going on) is excellent, the rest I found depressing.

Agreed that the suggested titles in the article are all execrable. 9½ Weeks made me want to have a wash.

9 Songs is a good one. So is Desert Hearts. I recommend Betty Blue as well. It's a terribly sad movie, but the love scenes are off the scale - of course the French have always excelled at that.

Unfaithful is excellent, although that may have no little to do with the fact that it has Diane Lane in it.

And although it's not really erotic, Shortbus is a delightfully uplifting comedy with a lot of sex.

    Dr.D,

Oh great, I have never seen anything listed in this article. Thanks for the recommendations. I'll try those.

There was also another Lady Chatterley, UK version I noticed. And several potentially good ones I just discovered on youtube. One features Silvia Kristle (Lady Chatterley)...and is called

I take it back about the food scene. It's as unappealing as the rest of the movie. I just watched it on youtube. I guess the first time you watch you might doubt what's happening. Not the second time though.

My tip: Go and see the play, The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?

It's about a bloke who falls in love with a goat.

Of course, while the subject matter is off-putting, it should only be viewed as a literary/dramatic device.

It also makes (marginally) more sense than 9 and a half weeks ... although a fresh viewing of that movie is worthwhile, just to see Kim Basinger as she was - and what former heartthrob bad-boy Mickey Rourke (who returns to grace with an excellent perormance in The Wrestler) used to look like.

Sadly, though, the years have taken their toll on Rourke and there have been unkind suggestions that his new look seems like it might have been achieved by prodigious use of a heavy lifter from Cranes R Us.

    Nevertheless, the man can act.
