Free furry friends from a fatal fate

In addition to providing wonderful examples of illiteration, angering liberals, and blogging, my next great joy is my furry buddies.

I wanted to share with you my reflections on being an animal lover. Most importantly, I want to urge those of you who are considering buying a pet, to reconsider and adopt one instead. With all the animals in shelters waiting to be adopted with some to be euthenized, you should really consider adopting.

At a local shelter here in Pennsylvania, a relatively small rural shelter, they have 200 dogs and about 300 cats. They are a no kill shelter. A lot of the animals will be adopted, but many will not. They will spend their entire lives in the shelter, yearning for a home. Though they are treated with love and attention by the caring staff, nothing can make up for a real home. To snuggle with their caregivers at night or watch TV with them in the evening is what these animals deserve.

There are many no-kill shelters, but sadly, many are shelters which will
"euthenize" unwanted animals. Your purchase of an animal at a store means there is one more animal at a shelter which will go on being homeless.

I want to share with you three of my beloved buddies which I've adopted. I urge you too do the same.

And don't forget. Spay or neuter your pet!!

if (preg_match('/]+)?>/', '') { echo '

' } else { echo ' This is my big kitty, Boots. I picked him up at a local shelter after his mommy died. He is a Maine Coon cat weighing in at about 16 pounds. He's not done growing, and will probably be able to beat me up soon.

'; }

For as big as he is, he is a big wimp. Despite the fact that he is bigger than our dog, Oreo, Boots still runs away when comfronted. Usually the dog runs away from Boots too, because Oreo fears Boots.
