Embracing a Do-It-Yourself Mentality: Some DIY endevours, like arts & crafts projects and small home repairs, involve little cost and therefore little risk. But even if you work in construction, trying to build a house without professional help is not a good idea. People who work in specific trades such as carpentry or masonry have spent years learning the nuances of the trade and perfecting their craft. An average person without the same background in that trade will lack the knowledge and experience to do the job right the first time. If they oversee construction without professional help, it can mean added expenses for repairs to fix mistakes they will make through a lack of knowledge and experience.
