Okay, now this question came up in a blog of mine recently:
Why do people think Jessica Simpson is attractive?? I really don't understand that one. She has got to be one of the most fake, plastic, surreal looking people I have never seen. I honestly don't get the attraction at all. Is it her boobs? Hello, her boobs don't make up for her fakeness. She looks like an alien to me.
As for Britney being sexy... this just further goes to show that people have forgotten what sexy really is:
Acting like a slut, being vapid, and stripping is not SEXY. Sexy at one time meant having a "come hither" allure with a bit of intelligence behind the eyes, or a knowing smile. Britney isn't even old enough to BE sexy yet.
God, Sophia Loren, Marylin Monroe, and Dietrich must all be huffing right about now. Hell, Madonna didn't even get sexy until she was in her 30s...
So I have to ask, what is sexy these days? Vapid, fake, plastic, give me a smile and I'd launch into a dance number that you can see down at your local strip club?

I agree with you about Britney 100%, but I think Jessica Simpson is sexy, moreso because I like her personality. She's a bit young for my taste but that isn't her fault.
Of the rest, only Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry do any boat-floating for me.

Jennifer Garner for sure. Jessica Simpson is "cute" and fuckable but not the definition of sexy. She is actually an all natural naieve country girl(except maybe for her tits). I think that's what people likes about her most. Madonna is, and has always been a slut. Not too sure I find that sexy. I'm just glad J-LO didn't make the list.

Let's call a spade a spade, Winslet is not so much curvy as fat, so she's not really that sexy. Actually, she's lost weight but she's still not sexy. No sex appeal in my view. Sharon Osbourne does have all the plastic you claim to see in Jessica Simpson, and if she's sexy so is the ass of a chimpanzee, in my view.
Dietrich..sexy? In a masculine sort of way I guess..Whether one is acting like a slut or stripping is neither here nor there..Britney has a fabulous body and THAT is what makes her sexy..especially as she chooses to flaunt it while dancing, sometimes in a sexual manner.

It is another one of those things. It's all in the eyes of the beholder. What's sexy to you, mightn't be sexy to me. Why Else would Michelle Pfeiffer be married to David Kelley? Maybe to her, sexy is in the brains than in the looks. Whatever works for you. Clearly, the readers of FHM like young gals with hot bodies and nice abs. Nothing wrong with that.

Women should have curves. However, there is curves and there is fat. Winslet was fat. Which is why she is going through the effort to lose weight and used to request excessive amounts of touch-ups in all photo shoots she did while she was over weight.
Monroe was stupid. It was clear from the way she spoke, the way she acted and some of the things she did. God rest her soul. She was stupid and THEN had those problems. What makes you think Britney does not have all those problems? Afterall, she's been in the spotlight at a very young age with public breakups and what not. Or are these excuses exclusive to people you like;)?

It just dosen't do it for me because its bland, common, oatmeal to me. After so many years where this is held up as the ideal beauty, to me it's just "meh, so what?"
Now before I get slammed, I have a swedish friend who is "Big Boobed, Blond" but she is a KNOCKOUT. No fake tan, all natural, and looks like ice. She's not bone skinny and has nice curves. When she gets a little older, I have a feeling that she is going to wow the world outside sweden. Shes a very talented photographer as well.

It's a very sad world that people actually think Kate Winslet is fat. I'm even more shocked that it's a woman that's said this (however, it's our much "loved" Sandra Smallson, so you can take her criticism with whatever amount of salt you may need.) No, Winslet is decidedly not fat. She actually looks - shock! horror! - healthy and most of all, real. It's people like Sandra who are causing our kids to become anorexic in order to stay thin enough to get the sad, desperate approval of all the Smallsons of the world. Sad.

Tom, I would have to agree with you about what people these days consider "fat". It seems that to have wons hipbones sticking out is the American ideal.
Now, why do I stress American? In my experience in traveling in Europe, they tend to apprecaite a woman with a little more "meat" on her bones.
I was told by one Dutchman (much to my shock because I made the assumption that he was into boney girls) "When I am screwing a woman, I want something to hold on to, I want to know that I am not going to break her, and I want to see all woman".

I think it important to point out the people should be judged primarily on the grounds under which they present themselves: Winslet may be fleshy but she doesn't present herself as a model or a sex object, she's an actress. Women who present themselves as sex objects - like Britney for example - will be judged on their physical perfection, under which terms Britney herself is kind of chunky.
