Evangelists, GOP Congressmen, And Now Doogie Howser M.D. Is Gay! Is Nothing Sacred? - Page 2

Born June 15, 1973, Harris, one of this year’s People Magazine’s Hottest Bachelors, started his acting career in fourth grade. He tagged along with his older brother in Ruidoso, New Mexico to an elementary school audition as a munchkin in a kids' version of The Wizard of Oz. Instead, he got snagged to play Toto because he was the smallest one who tried out for the part.

From there he landed the role of David Hart in Clara’s Heart in 1988. In 1989, he was cast in the title lead as teen medical prodigy Doogie Howser M.D. from 1989 to 1992. From there he took on several stage and TV roles designed to lose his loveable boy doctor persona. These included a killer on Law and Order, as well as a troubled gang member in Howard Stern’s Son of a Beach. He also took parts in stage productions of Amadeus, Rent, and Cabaret, and in the recent movie in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle.

Harris has stated that, in these times, he has no problems with people knowing he’s gay, and is very happy with his lover David.

Reichen didn't come out, he was already out on the Amazing Race - which means he's been out the entire time he's been in the public eye.

Nor have there been any statements from either Harris or Durka on their relationship.

I haven't heard any comments from the White House re: the Haggard scandal, but -- in any case -- I'm suggesting that Rev. Haggard wasn't as Bush-friendly as he seemed to be.

I guess it's only fair that I should've included the following...

David Burtka (born May 29, 1975 in Dearborn, Michigan) is an American actor.

Burtka grew up in Canton, Michigan, and graduated from Plymouth Salem High School in 1994. He trained in acting at Interlochen Center for the Arts, obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Michigan and had further training at the William Esper Studios.

His Broadway debut was as Tulsa in the 2003 production of Gypsy starring Bernadette Peters. He appeared in the original production of Edward Albee's play The Play About the Baby.

It doesn't get much more wonderful than having the president of 45,000 evangelical churches that represent 30 million Americans (10% of our population) get caught being a hypocritical bigot - high and hard with a homosexual! I had thought Florida's Congressman Foley was the star of the show this year until Ted Haggard came along. Now I can't do anything but laugh with pity at our gullible god-loving neighbors who's leader makes their adversary (satan? michael moore? me?) look like Mary Poppins!

So I'm writing a joke about it all:

Mark Foley, Ted Haggard, Rush Limbaugh, and Bill Clinton all walk into a bar and order drinks. Then, (fill in this blank with the punchline of your choice!)!

    HAHA!

Piper, thanks for chiming in. Kinda makes you wonder what Falwell's preaching from his pulpit this morning doesn't it?

You gotta admit Neil and David make one hell of a sexy couple though don't they.

I'll leave the punchline to your joke to others.

Neil isn't the first actor to play a popular doctor on TV to come out. He's joined by the ranks of T.R. Knight who plays George O'Malley on Grey's Anatomy and most famously Richard Chamberlain who played Dr. Kildare.

It's either because Haggard supported same sex civil unions or because Cheney's daughters may not like the comments...

And how would Neil Patric Harris feel about that Martin... or is that veering from the subject?

Who cares? The only people crap like this matters to are the homophobes, and they're more f'd up than anyone else.
If what consenting adults do bothers anyone, they ought to get some damn therapy.

Motogeezer, while that's a valid point, gays are forced out of the closet because we really are an invisible population. Because of that those that would oppress us do so by claiming there are less of us than there really are.

Thus it becomes necessary to organize large parades and have celebrities Like Neil, Rock Hudson, T.R. Knight and Richard Chamberlain expose their private lives.

In a world of people who have nothing better to do than to judge others in order to improve their own self-worth, it's the price we have to pay.
