Enigmatology

Literally, the study of riddles; Will Shortz, legendary crossword puzzle editor of the New York Times, defined it as the study of puzzles at Indiana University, where he earned his degree in Enigmatology, becoming the only academically credentialed enigmatologist in the world. His favorite web site: Cruciverb.com. There's a nice piece in the current Wired Magazine about him.

I believe to have discovered an uncanny relationship between Shakespeare's Hamlet and Plato's Phaedo. Although my hypothesis may at first seem unbelievable, one soon finds that the evidence is overwhelming and (statistically) irrefutable, therefore rendering this discovery invaluable to the study of this most puzzling work of literature. I believe Plato's Phaedo (one of the most influential exemplars of western literature) was intended as a key to unlock the intricate philosophical puzzle that is Hamlet.
