It's not just for ducts anymore. And even the Red Green show is yesterday's news. Now it's a fashion statement.. According to Ducti's website:
The folks at Polyken developed a super strong duct tape just for us that's stronger, better looking and doesn't ooze glue out the seams (really, you don't want glue ooze on your stuff.) This custom "Super" duct tape is ONLY available on Ducti products.
What kind of products? Well, watches, wallets, and clothes, supposedly - although the site looks to be under construction at the moment, so I'm not sure how much they're really going to be offering. Still, it shows what you can do if you really want to, right?

As an inveterate mobile DJ, I learned early and well the magic of the mighty DT! Tape ANYTHING down, together, apart, up, and patch any surface.

Duct tape - and its history - has long been of interest to me. Investigating some months back, I learned that the product was, in fact, originally called "duck tape":http://www.deeperwants.com/cul1/homeworlds/journal/archives/001197.html
Only later on did it become duct tape.
