Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical Comes To L.A.

Part of: StageMage

First it was a book. Then it was a movie. Now How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical comes to the Los Angeles Pantages Theatre. The show runs from November 10 through January 3.

This 90-minute Christmas special not only embraces the childhood favorite, but is accompanied by music. Some of the songs included are "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas.”

The plot is beloved by many. The Grinch is a grumpy old creature, who hates Christmas. His heart is “two sizes too small.” He lives alone up in a mountain right above Whoville. Because of his hatred toward the world, he decides to ruin Christmas for the Whos.

The show stars Christopher Lloyd as the Grinch. Lloyd is no stranger to theatre. He’s been in 200 plays and has even won a Tony Award. He’s also won three Emmy Awards, and starred in Taxi and the Back To The Future trilogy, among others.

John Larroquette, who plays Old Max the Dog, has won five Emmys. He’s best recognized for his work on NBC’s Night Court, for which he won four of those Emmys. Max will narrate the story.

It's not just star power, though; there are 24 cast members. James Royce Edwards (Hairspray on Broadway) plays Young Max. The part of Cindy Lou Who is split between Kayley Stallings and Issadora Ava Tulalian.

Ticket prices vary; the least expensive are just $25. There are many dates available, which you can look at here. That’s also one way to buy tickets. You can also call 1-800-982-ARTS (2787) or buy them in person at the Pantages Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets. The Pantages Box Office opens at 10 AM.

The New York Times wrote that How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical is “100 times better than any bedside story.” Buy your tickets now.
