DJRadiohead Podcast Experience - Episode 14

Part of: DJRadiohead Podcast Experience

Download Episode 14.

New segments and great music — that's what we have in Episode 14.  The DJRadiohead News Block makes its debut allowing us to lift up the rocks and see what's hiding under them and I play King for a Day.  You get a Song of the Week and I engage in some embarrassing self-disclosure.

In this episode you will hear music from Tom Petty, Mudhoney, Ryan Adams, The Rolling Stones, Machines of Loving Grace, The Pernice Brothers, Garbage and more.

Sometimes you need to go away and dream it all up again.  I'm not saying I have completely reinvented The DJRadiohead Podcast Experience but I do think I have reinvigorated it.  I hope you will check it out and let me know what you thought.

Highway Companion, Tom Petty's third solo album and first in a dozen years, is a timeless album about the passing of time. A constant companion on the road of rock n' roll, Petty, says Rolling Stone, ...

Of all your podcasts, I can definitely say that was one of your worst 13 or 14 of all time.

By the way -- two ladies in your stocks, huh?

I like the music as background during the segments, but be sure to make sure it's not too strong... even if it rocks. Fade it off to one channel so your voice is the only thing coming through in stereo.

By the way, if you despised LP so much, where did you get the song to play, and why'd you play the whole thing? I sense a cover-up... you own that album, don't you? Fess up. :o)

Sahm, I will move the music to one channel in addition to fading it next episode. That's a good idea.

As to the LP- I didn't play the full song and I promised I would not disclose the provider of said songs. Besides... the internet is out there, too. That was not an act. I really do despise those songs.

Sussman, you really know how to cheer a guy up. Consider yourself re-banned.

Not like I could do better. Nor would I try.

No, the first half of the show was really full of energy. When the music starts playing and the voices vanish, though, I tend to space out.

Come to think of it, maybe I will try it solo, thanks to you. Not having a DJ in the House of Suss might liven up my own world.

So how many lifetime banninations are we up to? It's like the principal just adding on detentions to a kid unworried about the consequences by now.

Well, I am actually pretty proud of this episode. I like it and think it is a highpoint in the show. My enthusiasm will not be dampened.

I enjoyed the show up until my 2nd listen when I caught the Puerto Rican midget comment...can't believe I missed it the first time around. But I guess that has to do with volume control or lack thereof in the podcast.

S.Rod, I'm sorry if the Puerto Rican midget comment diminished your enjoyment of the show. I can assure you, though, they are being payed in full for their efforts to build the compound.

Wait a minute. No, they're not. There is no fucking compound. There aren't any Puerto Rican midgets. Well, there may be some that exist but they aren't building anything for me. That's just fucking nuts.

I have no doubt that these fictitous midgets would have been well paid in your king universe...I think Mexican midgets would have made for a better alliteration and appropriate considering the current immigration issue.

    S. Rod: "2nd listen"

    Well there's your problem.

It's two more listens then your as-of-yet recorded podcast is going to get, Sussman.

The truth is Sahm wanted to listen to the podcast when he got home. So I usually listen to everything twice. With that said...this episode wasn't the best...but it wasn't the worst thing I have ever heard either. The uneven volume was what bothered me the most (more than the PR midgets), since I listen while at work.

Oh sure, blame me because DJR has a midget fetish.

Some could say the same about you Sahm! ;)

I guess what I neglected to say in my last comment was that I did enjoy the show despite some technical issues and the one comment.
