Last year they tried purchase it so they could raise the hotel and convert it into condos, but this year they're not saying what they're going to do with the property. However, since DeBartolo primarily develops retail shopping centers, it's my guess that they'll transform the Belleview Biltmore into a mixed-use facility, partly condos and partly retail. In my opinion, that's the highest and best use for the property. The building is historic, with some amazing stories to tell, allowing the developer a nice niche when marketing the condos and retail outlets. The resort is in a wonderful Belleair location, as well, and it features a golf and beach club. Information from today's St. Petersburg Times was used for this report. If the developer does make condos out of the Biltmore and you want to make one your own, contact me now to get on the list and I'll notify you when (if) more information is available. You just might be able to own a piece of history after all.

I see that your surname is fitting, Mr. Mudd. You are trying to cash in early and ride on DeBartolo's tail coats. Bet you live in Largo.........

I love it when people try to paint my name muddier than it actually is. it just boosts my PageRank! Woo hoo!
Say, I didn't know DeBartolo had tail coats. When did this happen? I thought they stopped wearing those in the 1800s.
