As evident with the ratings listed in today’s New York Post, Dan Rather’s downward spiral continues as he drags CBS down with this old and creaky, fast sinking ship. Not only did CBS come in 3rd place among the big three New York channels for the 6 o’clock hour, but for the 6:30pm period, CBS actually lost to Univision in households and persons 18-34 and 18-49.
Now, this is certainly not a knock on the Spanish language channel, Univision, more so it is an even more telling sign that the nation has signed off on Dan Rather after the memo-gate scandal. It is a shame since for the better part of his career, I understand Dan Rather to have been a prominent face on the news scene.
Perhaps, his thirst to sway the election away from President Bush blinded his better sense of judgment.
