Saturday was a busy day with several television panels, including Once Upon a Time. But before my day really got going, I stopped in to chat with Syfy's Hollywood Treasure host Joe Maddalena at the Profiles in History booth. Maddalena is CEO of Profiles, a
unique auction house that deals in Hollywood artifacts and treasures large and small. During our video interview, Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) made a surprise guest appearance (thank you Sean!), joining right into our conversation to hillarious effect.
As I toured the booth (#1605 for those of you reading this Sunday morning), where he showed me original costumes for some of Hollywood's most indelible characaters, inlcuding Johnny Depp's Edward Scissorhands, complete with scissor hands; Gene Wilder's purple velvet frock coat; Professor X's wheelchair, and Marlon Brando's glittery Jor-El getup.
These (and others) will be part of the next auction, which will be held at the end of the month in Los Angeles. Anyone, anywhere can bid on these items ranging in value from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars on the Profiles in History website.

Maddalena, considered one of the world's leading authenticators of Hollywood memorabilia, has been collecting since he aquired his first baseball card as a pre-teen. His most valuable item? Marylin Monroe's "Subway" dress from The Seven Year Itch which sold at $5.52 million.
Hollywood Treasures is a Syfy reality series. Viewers follow Maddalena and his crew around Hollywood as they seek out, appraise, and help auction off Hollywood and other pop culture memorabilia.
Although the series is on hiatus, Syfy's website hosts full episodes as well as several webisodes from the series' second season.
If you happen to be at Comic-Con, a stop at Profiles in History is a worthwhile stop. The items showcased are a veritable treasure trove of sci-fi and fantasy film lore.
