CityWalk (Hollywood) Hosts Free Concerts December 13th and 20th

Holidays are all about getting together with friends and family. We sit and open presents around a nice warm fire. Perhaps we are drinking egg nog and sharing a nice holiday meal. But not everyone can afford a meal. In fact, 36.2 million Americans and nearly one billion people worldwide suffer from world hunger. So, Universal Studios Hollywood Citywalk has paired up with The Hard Rock Café, Twist Magazine and WHY (World Hunger Year, Inc.) to raise food for the hungry.

On December 13th, Celica Westbrook, Savannah Outen ("Goodbyes") and Emily Osment (Hannah Montana) will be at Citywalk. On December 20th, Sara Haze and Tyler Warren will be performing at Citywalk. Both concerts start at 6PM.

Each concert is free. Yes, free. In exchange, artists ask each person to bring some canned food to donate to World Hunger Year.

World Hunger Year was founded in 1975 by Harry Chapin and Bill Ayres. Their mission statement (as stated on their official website) is: "WHY is a leading advocate for innovative, community-based solutions to hunger and poverty. WHY challenges society to confront these problems by advancing models that create self-reliance, economic justice, and equal access to nutritious and affordable food." World Hunger Year developed a hunger hotline (1-866-3-HUNGRY) that helps people find food in their local area (via soup kitchens, food banks, etc.)

Citywalk is a fun place to visit as well. It would be a good idea to spend some time at Citywalk before or after the concert. There are a lot of great restaurants such as Wolf Gang Puck (Great Burgers), Buca Di Beppo (Good Italian food for the entire family) and Jillian's (Lots of arcade games, karaoke and a bowling alley). CityWalk is in walking distance from Universal Studios, a theme park with a ton of rides.

Again, the concert is free and it's for a good cause. Bring your family and friends to see these young stars perform, all while helping the hungry have a Merry Christmas.
