Chiller Eyegore Awards: Honorees Announced

Part of: Halloween 2009

The Chiller Eyegore Awards is a ceremony recognizing the horror industry’s best. The ceremony is tomorrow, Friday, October 2nd at 7PM. The Chiller Eyegore Awards is done annually, right before the opening night of Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. The ceremony is hosted by Corey Feldman. (Lost Boys 2)

This year’s Eyegore Awards Honorees are: Rob Zombie, Tobin Bell, Noah Segan and Rick Baker. Rob Zombie is a well-known director in the horror industry. He directed the films Halloween and Halloween II. Tobin Bell is an actor from the Saw franchise. Noah Segan from Deadgirl is also an honoree. Rick Baker is a special effects make-up artist. He has won six Academy Awards (and was nominated for many more). His newest project is The Wolfman, out in theaters February 12, 2010.

After the Eyegore Awards, Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights begins. It’s the best Halloween attraction in Southern California. The whole theme park turns into one big haunted house.

There are four new mazes, all of them are different from last year. They are: “Saw: Game Over,” “Halloween: The Life and Crimes of Michael Myers,” “My Bloody Valentine: Be Mine 4 Ever,” and “Chucky’s Funhouse.” There’s a new Rocky Horror Picture Show show. Plus, six new “scare zones.” Then, there’s the highlight of the night: The Terror Tram. During the day, trams with people go down to the Universal back lot, where they filmed thousands of movies and TV shows. At Halloween Horror Nights, guests can actually get off the tram. Everything’s going to be different this year, so if you’ve gone before, you still have to go again.

There are a lot of times to go: October 2-3, 9-11, 15-18, 23-25, 28-31. The place opens at 7PM. Ticket prices vary. For example, some nights you can get 14 bucks off! Check out the Halloween Horror Nights website to buy tickets now.

The Chiller Eyegore Awards will air on Chiller later this month. Until then, make sure to check out Halloween Horror Nights.
