According to this People Exclusive article, Katie Holmes, 26, and Tom Cruise, 43, are expecting a child.
This would be a the third child for Cruise, who has two with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, and the first child for Katie Holmes.
The duo known to many as "TomKat" began dating in April 2005. Cruise proposed atop the Eiffel Tower in June. Their love has been declared from interviews to jumping on couches on TV shows.
The details as to the gender of the child or how far the pregnancy is have not been released. The pair seem to be happy and feeling great about it.
The two have not yet set a wedding date.

I put something about this momentous development on my TomKat thread (yeah, BAB I said it) but it seemed to disappear.
They said she was pregnant but they didn't say how it happened or whose it was ;-) Tom has enough children, considering that his marriages so far a have lasted exactly ten years each and a child's minority lasts eighteen years. He's single parenting the two kids he already adopted who now come from a broken home.
I would have advocated having a sex tape "stolen" and released on the internet by evil pornographers if proof of virility was the motive. Perhaps that was a problem.

I am commenting not just on this post but the media frenzy in general regarding the impending birth of this poor kid.
The news of Katie's bun in the oven is all over E! and other tabloid shows. It's even in regular "news" papers.
The thing is this: who really cares? What does it matter?
Twenty years from now when this kid is so messed up and wonders why, all he/she will have to do is check the archives and understand that he/she was star-crossed from the start.
What a sad commentary on how low we've actually stooped to find something to write/talk about.

I just watch news today of Katie and Tom marriage is next month. Is Katie really 3 month pregnant? I do not think so. She is 5 month or more. Yumi Adachi is 3 month pregnant with Jun Itoda baby and Yumi is tiny girl. She does not show stomach yet. I think Tom get Katie pregnant when just meeting in April and Tom is hiding truth. Now I understand why Tom act like crazy man and quickly engage to Katie. She is already having sex with Tom even she say she is virgin and engagement is done by pregnancy in June. I think Katie dis-honor her catholic religion. Oh Charlette, stay virgin till marriage. In Japan it is bad to be unwed single mother. I think that Yumi marry because of that. I agree with Charlette. Katie is lying about age of pregnancy. Hana must be big fan of Yumi Adachi. She is a very great actress. Yumi should start acting in Hollywood, that is how good she is. Yumi is as of this day 3 months pregnant. She is frequently seen and I saw her the other day. She is still flat belly. Katie is a little too big to be 3 months pregnant. We know Yumi is due April. If Katie give birth January, she has a lot of explaining to do. I think Katie concieve in April. Yumi concieve in July and you can see difference.
Charlette I am sorry about Hana explaining of being bad to have baby out of wedlock. In Japan it is male dominated and it is shame and un natural for woman to be with child if single after giving birth. I understand where she is coming from with Yumi. If Yumi did not marry Jun Itoda Yumi's career would go down hill. We believe in Japan that if a man impregnate woman, baby is a symbol of couples love and they must marry. If not? It is a very imoral and lack of value to do so. The woman and man is look at as skebe. In Japan meens prostitute. Katie is not marry yet and she promise to not have sex till marriage. Thankyou for the support! I wouldn't want to be a single mother either; it's not fair to the baby. If Katie got pregnant in April; then maybe they should be married by now. Tom Cruise being so critical of other people (especially Brooke Shields), and pushing his religion; which a lot of people here consider a cult; doesn't help either one of them.
He has to think about that baby now, not himself.
