Bush Gives Medals of Freedom to Nugent and Daniels

WASHINGTON, DC--Stating that he had "Completely forgotten about the other two architects of freedom and liberty, who also happen to rock like there's no tomorrow", President Bush awarded two additional Americans with the Medal of Freedom yesterday.

Rock sensation Ted Nugent and country heavyweight Charlie Daniels were both presented with the coveted Presidential Medal of Freedom in a ceremony at the White House.

On Monday, Bush had given 3 Medals Of Freedom to Retired Gen. Tommy Franks, Former CIA head George Tenet, and Iraq administrator J. Paul Bremer. Shortly after the ceremony, he was informed by his wife that both Nugent and Daniels were "Just as instrumental in affecting change in Iraq as the others." The President was embarrassed by the oversight, and was able to get the Franklin Mint to quickly make 2 additional medals for a quickly prepared ceremony yesterday. An idea by Bush to also award Defense Secretary Rumsfeld a medal as well was quickly squashed by the First Lady, who said, "Abso-fucking-lutely not."

Nugent and Daniels were both "deeply honored" by Bush's recognition of their contributions to the Iraq War.

Ted Nugent has been a staple in the rock business as the consummate axe man and conservative activist. Bush recognized him for, "Seeing me through all of the tough decisions with tracks like 'Cum N Gitya Sum-O-This' and 'Wang Dang Sweet Poontang'. I listened to the Penetrator album almost as much my Full Bluntal Nugity disc when we were getting ready to head into Baghdad. What a patriot this guy is." Nugent has performed for Bush numerous times, in addition to headlining Republican fundraising dinners and midnight Glo-Bowl events for the Dawson County Republican Committee in Texas.

Daniels' involvement in the Iraq War was more strategic planning, and less guitar strumming, although Bush did say that he has long been influenced by the seminal Daniels hit, "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". Daniels has spent more time behind closed doors with the President, top advisor Karl Rove and National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice. Bush said of Daniels, "Charlie has long been a master of the country violin, but we had no idea he had such a handle on foreign policy and the Middle East. He's been an integral part of our braintrust, and will continue to be so during my second term. You can't find anyone who can segue from discussing the Fallujah invasion to busting out a ridiculously kicking version of 'The South's Gonna Do It Again'."

I wonder if maybe Ted Nugent and Charlie Daniels will display their Medals of Freedom next to the deferments they received during the Vietnam War...

Here's how Nugent dodged the draft:
"He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days, he ingested nothing but Vienna sausages and Pepsi; and one week before his physical he stopped using bathrooms altogether, virtually living inside pants caked with his own excrement and stained by his urine. Nugent now says that spectacle won him a deferment. 'But if I woulda gone over there I'da been killed, or I'd have killed, or I'd killed all the hippies in the foxholes...I woulda killed everybody!'"

MCH--interesting. I was not aware that Nugent a voided the war as though it were the plague. Makes his ultra-patriotism even more shallow.

Actually, Dick Cheney, Tom Delay, Karl Rove, Mitt Romney, John Ashcroft, and almost ALL Rapeublicans are DRAFT DODGERS.

Bush was AWOL and both he and Cheney committed TREASON against the USA, illegal war, outing CIA spy, politicizing the DoJ, etc.

A medal of freedom from an AWOL coward like Bush to Chickenhawks like Nugent and Daniels does nothing but CHEAPEN THE MEDAL.
