There has been a lot of disscusion on Blogcritics lately about blogs, blogging, starting a blog. I thought that I might share this post that I wrote on Tekwh0re back in February to help newbies out. There are probably some better sources on the net, but hopefuly you'll find some things on here helpful.

I have gotten a lot of mail since that whole boob thing. Quite a few were telling me how they liked the site and how they wish they could start a blog and wondering how to get started. Well, what many of you may not know is that way back when I first started this site, it was a site where I shared erotica and technical information on PC's and the internet. It sort of evolved over time. Still, perhaps in this case, I should go back to my roots, and try to help some of you newbies out. This information is meant for novices. If you want to know how to make sites like I make, then you'll need some previous understanding of HTML and CSS. However, before we run, we must walk. On to Blogging 101!
First off, let's address some questions about who should blog:
A. Who should blog? Should I blog?
B. Anyone can blog, even you! There is no age limit, political affiliation, gender, etc that cannot blog! I get a lot of email with people saying "I just don't know what to say." Or, "No one is interested in what I have to say." So? Who are you blogging for? You or for other people? You will find that you will be more satisfied and have a more successful blog if you blog for yourself. What I mean by this is that you should write about your interests, views, and observations. Perhaps you want to talk about current events. Maybe you want to talk about your personal life. Anything goes in a blog. True, some blogs are more commentary in nature than autobiographical, but that is cool too. Tekwh0re tends to fluctuate from being personal revelations about me to my commentary on the news, esp. American politics. I write about what interests me and I write it as best as I can as if I were in the pub with you having a pint. This is why you'll see me go from what the Supreme Court said today, to what is up with all the chicks showing their G-Strings. I find that having a sense of humor and never taking yourself too seriously goes a long way. Remember, this is supposed to be fun!!
