CULTURE: Lisa Hoover's picks of the week
Deployed? How To Write a Care Package Wish List by Milblogging.com, Nov. 7
Milblogging.com wrote a very informative piece about how members of the military should put together a careful list when asking for care packages. They even give tips on how to avoid tampons and diarrhea. Really.
A Problem Group: Men Who’ve Had “Too Much Breast Milk” by DaLilah (has no Web site), Nov. 7
DaLilah shares her opinion of why there are so many “momma’s boys” out there. Commenters seemed evenly divided in their agreement or disagreement but it’s a great topic, nonetheless.
I Am Not Superstitious – Knock On Wood by deekay, Nov. 11
I want you to read this article standing under a ladder while a black cat walks by. Then forward this article to 10 friends immediately or risk 19 years of bad luck.

MUSIC: Connie Phillip's picks of the week
In Show Review: Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey in NYC 11/02/05 (Nov 11) Jordan Clifford highlights and reviews all aspects of the recent Jazz performance with exceptional detail, bringing the experience to life.
El Bicho always delivers a great review. In CD Review: John Fogerty - The Long Road Home, (Nov. 11), he also delivers a history of Credence Clear Water Revival and Fogerty's roots.
Mary K. Williams gave us a very well thought out and comparative review of the tribute album to the original Pink Floyd classic The Wall CD Review: Pink Floyd Tribute, Back Against the Wall (Nov. 7). This brought back a lot of great memories. I wanted to dig out my old vinyl as well as check out this new release.
In Wallace, Gromit and Mr. Paterno (Nov. 8) Steven Hart offers a thoughtful feature on the long and lasting effects music can have on one's life.

TV/FILM: Joan Hunt's picks of the week
Viqi French was the first BlogCritic to review Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Somehow I doubt she'll be alone for too long. According to Viqi, Fiddy isn't Denzel Washington, but doesn't really need to be, as Fiddy and crew have presented "a rich, ambitious film that was worth the wait and 50's incessant hype."
Supernanny makes an impression on Scott C. Smith. If you've never watched the show, you're missing out on lessons that are hard-learned in the parenting game. "The show offers a wealth of good information for parents — any parent with young children will benefit from just watching and putting Jo's ideas to use."

aka BigLug (sorry for the sudden name change to GoHah). Thank you for the recognition for something that was a lot of fun to write. And congrats to the other honorees.
2 - Sterfish
Great picks and congrats to everyone who was honored.
3 - Mark Edward Manning
Many thanks, TS and ND, for this second such award. Glad you enjoyed the "Isolation" piece. I thought I'd be flamed off the map for it, but to find out it was so valued is a nice surprise.
Cheers.
4 - Scott C. Smith
Thanks, Temple! I am blushing with pride.

Well, gee, this is pretty cool! And now I feel stupid because it didn't occur to me to make a comment here until just now. Doh!
Anyway, thanks VERY much for the honor - and it's great to be in such good company!
Congrats to everyone else. : )

Thanks to whoever said I always deliver a great review (Temple or Connie), but for clarification, Fumo Verde wrote the John Fogerty piece. I only posted it and did some editing.
Good week for The Masked Movie Snobs what with both Fumo and Sombrero Grande snagging BC editors' picks.
Next up, global domination.

Natalie, thank you for the honor.

Wow, I'm so honored. I'm a little late on discovering my inclusion here, but thanks so much for the nod!
