MUSIC: Temple Stark's pick of the week
Review: The Long Forgotten, Divinity School Drop Out by Zombyboy, July 28
Hey - maybe Heavy Metal's back. And anyone who reminds readers that Green Day are fake is thumbsup to me: "this makes the "punk" of bands like Green Day look weak and studied."
CD Review: Royal Jones - You Broke The Circle by Wally Bangs, July 28
He looks like a British drag queen without the drag. We are introduced to Royal Jones, a man with a four-octave vocal range and he uses it for the funk. Wally likes it and that's good enough for me.
John Hiatt & The North Mississippi Allstars At Webster Hall (6/25/05), by Earvolution, July 18
A well-done concert review; it's hard to move away from the cliché but Ear-boy here paints a full picture of what's going on.
2005 Music Festival Guide by Elizabeth Boody, July 19
It wasn't the writing here, but just a great concept for the site, done in an extremely well-organized and efficient way. Why is it we don't have link on the side again?

BOOKS: Pat Cummings' picks of the week
Review: A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby by No Milk, July 25
This is the best kind of review: It opens the author's heart to reveal why the writer was moved to read and review the book.

"Good 'Stuff' you may have missed?"
Stuff is an overused word. writing..., works..., artistry ....you might have missed them ...
9 - Eric Olsen
that's why it's funny: it's generic, it's cliched, it's folksy, it's unpretentious
10 - Temple Stark
BLOGCRITICS HITS 10MIL VISITORS stuff
HARRY POTTER stuff
REAL WORLD: AUSTIN stuff
AMERICAN IDOL - THE OFFSEASON stuff
MICHAEL JACKSON stuff
it's nothing
11 - Phillip Winn
GOOD YOU MAY HAVE MISSED
See, that's a more apt comparison. Stuff is not nothing.

The last few comments are incomprehensible, mostly

You should review the blogspot, "lonelynote.blogspot.com". They have audio streams and an interesting midwest perspective on little known bands. It is one of the best music reviews I've seen.
14 - Scott Butki
I used to have to pay a nickel for every time I used the word "stuff" or "thing" since I overused it.
Congrats to this week's picks.
