Apple's dirty little secret...

"IPod's 'dirty secret' wins Web fans"
apologies if this has been mentioned in previous Blogcritics reviews of the iPod, but i felt compelled to draw attention to this specific issue with the iPod once my flatmate had so graciously pointed me to two relevant URLs
you can see the satire film here:
You need Quicktime support in your browser
and the Yahoo! news article here:
You don't need Quicktime for this link...lol

Luckily, This "problem" appears to have been addressed now. But i can only wonder if it is only thanks to the efforts of the film's makers, that Apple realized their original plan would get too much bad publicity for them.
OK, at least they did fix it once they realized it would cause a big stir. Credit to Apple for listening where many, many others have ignored.
But also credit to the film's makers. Perhaps if this film had not been made, in order to draw attention to the unfariness of the design, people in general would be none the wiser and all you iPod owners out there would have to stump up after 18 months. Proof that the customer can still wield significant power, even in these days of the uber-international corporation. After all, it is the customers that essentially make any company its profits.

Well. . . . Sigh. . . . Hmmm. . . . As I tell my journalism students, it is is always a good idea to say what you are talking about in an entry, preferably in the first line. This piece never does. And, no, using it a secret doesn't get you off the hook. There are a lot of iPod 'secrets'.

    my point was this:
"...Proof that the customer can still wield significant power..." more than anything. it wasn't meant to be an actual article about the story, or copy of the story, or whatever, but a short comment about this very recent example that consumer power isn't dead yet.
Of course i'm no journalist - the majority of my posts are reviews, although i do sometimes comment on news posts by other blogcritics.

I'm with Mac Diva on this one. It's useful to know what a post is about. And although I'm a Mac user, I guess I'll just never know ...

any possiblity you could put some module on MT that limits the number of comments that can be made from a particular IP in a short space of time?

I decided to buy a Creative Zen micro,it is however the only creative mp3 player so far.
that has a replacement battery in the creative line. The more expensive photo one does not.
I bought the creative zen micro in the spring of this year 2006.I am very happy with it.
My hubby says you can get into an Ipod and replace the battery yourself
