I have to agree with the person who asked why are there always photo ops highlighting her latest charitable act. I don't care about Jolie's or Pitt's private lives; like most people, they have both charitable and selfish elements to their personalities.
While they both do some good work, it's always with some element of the media in close range. Jolie refused to assist the New Orleans Red Cross unless they allowed her to bring her own photographers (the Red Cross was simply asking if she would like to donate time to their organization, not looking for a flashy celeb endorsement. I am an associate of some of the people who work for N.O. Red Cross). On the other hand, she did help out an N.O. children's charity.
Plenty of other famous and wealthy people have been privately donating and assisting charities for years--often with more time and more money invested than Jolie-Pitt. I encourage anyone to donate and help out wisely; I just don't see where these two are doing anything more than the thousands of anonymous people who give their money and time.

Anybody can look good and give donations and smile pretty for the cameras when they are mega rich with nothing to lose.
