Adventures in Guided Imagery - Page 3

The process of guided mediation is not a haphazard or random one and it needs to adhere to scores of principles in order to be effective. Simply imagining things in the mind does not deliver what is needed for this process to be effective…not by any stretch of (pardon the play on words) the imagination.

Within this notion is the expansion of the self beyond the commonly understood combination of the mind and the body, and the entry into an altered state. An altered state does not mean devolving into a primeval version of yourself. It simply means that as you become more in tune with your new mind/body connection you will discover your state will change in terms of how you perceive what is around you and what is in the mind. This opens the door for being more effective in crafting your guided imagery goals.

Enhancing Results

One key point here is that you need to be in control of the process from beginning to end. You do not want to fall into the trap of being a secondary player to your mind and your emotional power. You want to be the one that guides the imagery as opposed to the imagery guiding you. Being reactive in the endeavor will not allow you to ever maximize its true potential and value.

This does mean a lot of practice will be required in order for you to allow the process of guided imagery to work in a manner that is most effective. But the grand rewards it offers makes the entire venture well worth it.

If you want to see improvements in both your life and your core of being, success with guided imagery is definitely well worth pursuing.
