Guided imagery is a form of “self-mind control” which can be used to enhance improvements in your life in many ways. Far too often, we have a tendency to wallow in the negative and allow such images to erode our psyche. Doing this is certainly not the best use of one’s mental imagery. Instead of wasting energy on such processes, it would be a much better plan to use guided imagery as an effective means of enhanced visualization.

But is it accurate to refer to guided imagery as mere visualization? The truth here is there is more to guided imagery than just visualizing things. Rather, the process is far more expansive and can help yield far more improvements and enhancements than what you might initially assume possible. Then again, you likely do realize the tremendous benefits that guided imagery has the potential to deliver.
The Mind and How Imagination Works
The imagination truly is a powerful thing. Within the imagination, a great deal of powerful visualization techniques can be employed to create a new reality. No, that is not a call to create something metaphysical. Rather, you are visualizing attitudes, actions, and behaviors you wish to duplicate in life. Effective and imaginative visualization will enhance the likelihood such duplication is possible.
However, with guided imagery, you are extending the process far beyond just visualizing (seeing) things in your head. Rather, you are bringing all of your senses into the equation.
In other words, you do more than just visually imagine yourself as the star of your own movie when you imagine yourself in your own mind. Rather, you also tie in the sensations of taste, touch, smell, and hearing in order to truly immerse yourself in what it is you wish to visualize.
You truly do blur the lines between fantasy and reality when doing so. While not an easy process, this is still a beneficial one because the end result can be a much more beneficial change than would be the case if you only “saw” the changes you are interested in.
