New allegations of sexually inappropriate conduct have surfaced

Military investigators delved into allegations that recruiters were engaged in sexual misconduct at the Ukiah office... The investigation into misconduct by North Coast recruiters surfaced this week when a Ukiah high school student told reporters that three male recruiters had sex with young women, some of them poolees, at a Feb. 17 sleepover in the Ukiah office.…

I have slept with the recruiter and it is too bad for the girl. He sucks in bed. Too bad that had to be her first time. I wasn't pressured but I am also not a young girl. He is a smooth talker though.

He didnt force me at all. He was always good to me but who knows how he treated these girls. I know he is a good guy but what can you do. She claims rape and now he will be known as a rapist. It is too bad that this happened.

I know I know....not another one...but yes....at least one more person slept with that recruiter...me. He didn't convince me on the idea either but I didn't exactly seek it out..I was set up with him by another recruiter in the shop. I turned a blind eye to knowing he had at least one girlfriend....among other things. It was easier to not think about what I was doing....of course I wish I hadn't...I'm just glad I used protection.

who gives a shit whether or not if it was consensual and the marine corp while the smallest of the branches still is not that small plus you painting this girl as 1 an idiot 2 a slut and 3 basically having condemned all female marines including herself now regardless of whether or not this incident was initiated by the recruiter or th recruit recruiters are still supposed to know exactly what they are doing and this is not quite as isolated a incident as many would like to belive maybe this type of misconduct is but recently recruiter harrasment has been common place this recruiter should have declined and if it persisted gotten another recruiter to work with her and just avoided the whole situation now the best he can hope for if this is found true is a dishonorable discharge and while i admit that the military is by far not perfect i do belive unless i am mistaken that the military has rules and regultions against the drill instructor publically humiliating or embarissing or even just singling out one of the soldiers so i find that comment about how small the marines are to incrediblly biased information and further think that while this is a terrible thing to happen that many people are blowing this way out of proportion and i would like to clarify my intent here i am not posting this to attack anyone i just feel that this situation would be much better off if everyone here tried to look at this matter as one in a long line of misconduct that will not and can not be fixed simply by posting on a website so my personal stance on this is either do something about it or do nothing but do not try to comment on it as if you were personally involved and still do nothing either get involved and do something or stay out of it and do nothing but this entire posting seems to me to be nothing alot of semi-incoherent ranting and raving trying despretally to assign blame to the victim and to alleviate blame from the recruiter who again even if she initiated it should have declined

Wow... To say the least I am both shocked and appalled by what I have just read. I would love to be able to read the whole article so that I can get a better idea as to what happened.

My best friend is a Marine... And he is one of the kindest and nicest people whom I have ever met. To be honest in my eyes at least I believe that he holds all of the Marine Corps Values, and the USMC office that I go to participate in PT every morning? They are all very upstanding Marines who have done nothing but help me in conditioning myself as if I were a Marine.

If Anything I belive that this is just an isolated/rare case. This is not common. And this doesnt happen everywhere.

As a final note: Passing judgment like this on All of the USMC because of this is not right. It is no better than saying that all middle easter people are terrorists, all african americans are gangsters or eat chicken and watermelon, or that all male asians are dirty old men because they can buy used panties.

    Thanks for reading...

so, ive read all these comments and i just want to ask, what will happen to a poole? will they just simply have this follow them throughout their marine corps life, or will they be denied to go into boot camp and to become a marine at all?

As a female marine I know exactly what a female has to deal with in the Marines. This is a horrible preview of what the Marines has to offer. The female is only 17 and at that age one is naive and ignorant but it doesn't excuse her from knowing that sex in exchange for anything is wrong. The recruiter on the other hand totally took adventage of his position and abused his personal power to the fullest. I know that is policy to not get involved in any way with poolees and what about the fact thst she is a minor. Wow! what an embarrassment!

this story is 100% false. the girls were just looking for handouts from the government for "pain and suffering" knowing full well the gov't has plenty. they are probably Liberals, like i said earlier, wanting the gov't to do everything for them.

It almost sounds like she wanted to be a Marine so bad, she was willing to let people take advantage of her to get there. Is that dedication, or what? but I would personally never degrade myself that way. If she had sense, she would have told someone right away and had the man discharged & replaced.

I have to say as a female former Marine that while men will try your patience and test you at every turn, these girls had to be really stupid to believe that they had to have sex in order to get into the military.

The fact of the matter is these men were not preying on young girls who didn't know any better. Stories abound of young women who get to MEPS and lose their damn minds, setting the stage for promiscuity later on. They made that decision. All involved are equally responsible.

Some women are locked and cocked and some women are "wm's," -- walking mattresses. The "wm's" make it hard for everyone else.
