Steel Magnolia became popular when they won season two of CMT's Can You Duet. But that was only the beginning. The duet, consisting of Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones became even more popular after releasing their single "Keep On Lovin' You," featured on the movie Valentine's Day's soundtrack. The single is a top 15 hit. It's the highest charting debut single for a country duo since 2007. Their first CD with the country label Big Machine Records is due early summer 2010.

The nominations were announced March 2nd on the CBS early show. “We thought our manager meant the Top NEW Vocal Duo Award,” Jones said, “Then she started naming off all the superstar nominees like Brooks & Dunn and Sugarland and then we realized we had been nominated for THE Top Vocal Duo Award as well! We couldn’t believe it."

“We are so grateful to the Country music industry and all of our fans for embracing us and our sound," said Linsey. “From the bottom of hearts we thank you and we love you. Our dreams wouldn’t be coming true without each of you.”

In addition, Steel Magnolia has released an EP, available on iTunes. There are five songs, including "Keep On Lovin' You." There is also a music video of "Keep On Lovin' You." Meghan says that the song "has that soulful thing and that comes pretty naturally to us. I think we’re bringing something different to the table.”

You can vote for Steel Magnolia to win Top New Vocal Duo until March 12. They are up against Bomshel and Joey and Rory. The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 18th at 8 pm ET/ 7 pm CT live on CBS.
