It’s time for another Summer Concert Series at Tysons Corner Center, one of the notable shopping venues in northern Virginia. Venture out each week to the Plaza on the second level, where you can indulge in dinner with friends at one of the restaurants and then gather near the stage for the concert. The concert series has showcased emerging and top artists such as American Idol winners, Andy Grammer, Ingrid Michaelson, Gavin DeGraw, and Rachel Platten.
The Summer Concert Series is on my calendar every year. Admission is free for all of these concerts, which last approximately an hour. If you arrive early enough, you can secure a good spot at or close to the front barrier. Also, it’s a great opportunity to meet the radio personalities from 94.7 Fresh FM and snag a freebie, like last year’s selfie sticks.
The 2017 series starts at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 and runs weekly until Friday, July 28. This Saturday evening marks the return of a Summer Concert Series favorite, the Legwarmers. Known for their high energy shows, this ’80s tribute band is sure to deliver a spectacular opener.
In the eight weeks that follow, concertgoers will have a chance to see X Factor winner James Arthur, American Idol favorite Danny Gokey, One Tree Hill stars Tyler Hilton and Kate Voegele, and more. Internationally acclaimed and award-winning country star LeAnn Rimes will close out the series at the grand finale.
For the full lineup, see the Summer Concert Series website. Tysons Corner Center is located at 1961 Chain Bridge Road, Tysons Corner, Virginia.
