The first Colorado Tea Party was held on February 27th, 2009 at the Capitol in Denver.
As a long term Conservative Political Street Activist, I called the organizer and asked what I could do to help. I mentioned to him that I could lead the crowd in the singing of the National Anthem and would be willing to give a speech if he needed any more speakers He told me to prepare some remarks.
A reporter from the Colorado Independent interviewed me after the speech. Her story can be found at this link.
During the twenty-two months since that first event, I have interviewed dozens of Conservative Political Activists at a variety of Tea Parties and Health Care Town Hall meetings.
When I grabbed my digital camera as I ran out the door to that first event, I had no plans to make a documentary. After reviewing the materials that were carefully stored on my computer over the past two years, I realized that I had captured a comprehensive representation for why the various participants took the time to attend.
With so much negative coverage of the tea party movement, and outright falsehoods being told about why millions of American Citizens chose to stand up for governmental fiscal responsibility these past two years, I believe this movie will help educate those who really want to know the truth.
My consistent question to those I interviewed was “Why are you here?”. Those who responded to that question gave a perfect exemplification of the tea party movement. I shared the best interviews in the movie.
I also interviewed several activists on my Blog Talk Radio Show and they also gave articulate and in depth reasons for why they were speaking out and standing up for Freedom.
Two of these interviews were included in the movie.
