WWE fans who were already upset with Batista winning the Royal Rumble were further shocked when news came out that CM Punk, one of the top guys in WWE, suddenly was no longer part of the company.
Backstage on the January 27 edition of Monday Night Raw, Punk told the WWE Chairman Vince McMahon that he will be going home. Later on, Punk was removed from all the upcoming WWE events.
The Road to WrestleMania has begun with the 2014 Royal Rumble and the matches and storyline for it are starting to build up. Punk leaving WWE at this critical stage seems shocking and hints that something really serious must have taken place backstage.
Although WWE.com didn’t report news of CM Punk officially leaving the company, it came to notice that the official Twitter account of WWE is no longer following Punk. This strongly hints that he has really quit WWE, even though his contract officially ends in July.
According to the rumors floating around, Punk was said to be frustrated with how things are going around in WWE. He is said to be upset with Batista winning the Royal Rumble. Punk was annoyed that a returning superstar was given a ticket to headline WrestleMania while he himself has been kept out from the WWE World Title scenario for a long time.
Backstage rumors stated that Punk was scheduled to face the WWE COO Triple H in a high profile match at WrestleMania. With Punk gone, Daniel Bryan may take his place and fight “The Hunter” at Mania.
“Thanks for all the support. Keep being you guys, it’s pretty cool.”
