It is said that 6 in 10 people worldwide have cell phones. There are upwards of 5 billion plus cell phone subscriptions around the globe. Are we all just a bunch of yakkers? Actually, cell phone use has evolved much beyond just talking. There’s also texting, there’s video, and so much more.
With some people the adoption of cell phone use went like this: they didn’t see a need for one at first because they got along fine without one. Then, they think to themselves it would be nice in case of emergency. Once they get one they use more minutes on it than they ever thought they would. Then they get to a point where they can’t do without it.
People use their cell phones for talking, texting, browsing the internet, for GPS, and for all kinds of other nifty apps. It’s hard to imagine what the world would be like today without cell phones! And before some of the world has been able to adopt 3g fully, 4g is threatening to take over with its lightening speed and capabilities.
