Total Confusion EP
Sludgefeast
(Must Destroy)

One think you notice when you slap this sucker into your CD player is that they certainly live up to their name. This CD features four songs under 2 minutes of pure low-fi goodness. Sounds like it was recorded in someone’s back shed on a small tape recorder. Its simplicity and muddiness is part of its charm. The first track is taken from the forthcoming album Virtua Rock; the rest are exclusive. Its patently obvious its all deliberate. ‘Total Confusion’ is a wonderful slab of low-fi goodness ditto the rest of the tracks. While a bit White Stripey at times…this is 100% shed rock. Great if you like that sort of thing. Me I like a bit more sophistication in my rock…but I can’t pretend this doesn’t have its merits.

Rating: 3.8/5

You don’t have to take my word for it, of course, this EP is free for the download.

I like the old-school cover art, at least. Ah, vector-based Asteroids!
