I recently had the opportunity to review Hurricane Relief: Come Together Now (release date Nov 22, 2005). A 2-CD collection featuring new recordings and classic cuts from more then 80 artists and 35 songs, that span a variety of genres and generations.

Some of the artists and songs are:
Faith Hill — “Precious Lord, Take My Hand”
Clint Black — “When the Levee Broke”
B. B. King — “Early In The Morning”
Chris Thomas King — “What Would Jesus Do?”
The Winans — “After All”
Kirk Whalum/Coolio — “When the Saints Go Marching Back In”
Harry Connick, Jr — “City Beneath The Sea”
Elton John — “I’m Still Standing”
James Brown — “Try Me”
Barbra Streisand — “I Believe”
Diddy/Fred Hammond — “By Faith”

The album was an absolute delight to listen to. The variety was something that this music lover enjoys, and keeps me from getting bored with a single genre.
All in all I found the CD’s very enjoyable. For me I really enjoyed the blues and country. Others will prefer the hip hop. No mater, what your musical interests are, you will find something to enjoy on this CD. I encourage everyone, to purchase this 2-CD set, if for no other reason then to have the satisfaction of knowing that 100% of the net proceeds (at last $15) of this purchase goes to help those devastated by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. I can think of no better album to spend your musical dollars on.

and that’s the way I see it, and now for your thoughts…
