Bush Wins

So we watched the History Channel’s Bible Code special. We’re suckers for those shows, even though we go in highly skeptical and come out even more skeptical. The main problem is that they are deadly accurate in hindsight. Look, there’s clear evidence that the Twin Towers would be attacked. Let’s ask Condi about that, why don’t we?

There’s even code telling us that Saddam would be captured last year. Any code about Usama’s capture date? Didn’t think so.

There were some predictions. The world is ending in 2012. No need to worry about the Social Security system.

Then there was the most precise prediction. The WMDs were moved through Syria and hidden in the Bekah valley in Lebanon. We’ll have an extensive military operation to recover them in 2005. Now we know Bush will win. You know Kerry isn’t going into Lebanon in his first year.

Anything is deadly accurate in hindsight, including just plain hindsight. This “Bible Code” crap makes me confused. I don’t know whether to laugh because it’s silly, or cry because people believe it.

I saw a fascinating special on Bible code: after laborious transliteration, the message was “there is no such thing as Bible code.”

didn’t the first Bible Code book say the world would end in 2000?

didn’t the first bible code state that Slash was the best guitarist of all time?

I have more than a passing knowledge of the Bible Code and own a copy of the updated Code software used by (former) NY Times journalist Michael Drosnin and Dr. Eli Rips of Hebrew University.
It is virtually impossible to “predict” the future for the simple reason that anyone lacks the many unknown factors about any event that hasn’t yet happened.
Having said that, however, I have no doubt that encodings in the Bible, written 3,200 years ago did offer reliable prospects for the future. Having found the details within the Torah of an enormous number of past events that have occurred is virtually impossible to deny its validity. I have attempted to do this with other large texts, and the mathematical results have been essentially hopeless for random chance.
I believe the “Torah Code” is real.

As for the “Bush Wins,” prospect, I can only say that I have found conflicting messages. Although some solid indications do exist for a “Bush Win,” prospects have also been found that indicate this is not an absolute certainty. A message, “Will you change it?” keeps appearing often, along with “prospects” for the future. The Creator clearly has given us free will to do what we want on this planet.
My suggestion: Do not use the Code to “predict” the future. Multiple futures are written therein.

Or, there’s always the tried and true methods.

I have found the Bible Code to be true. Like every one else, it describes my personal life and works.
To my surprise it tells of a book on Daniel I wrote in 1996 and sent to the Library of Congress.
It also refers in detail to a book on obelisks I completed over a year ago and sent to the Library of Congress.
Both these books are referred to in Michael Drosnin’s two Bible Code books.
Regarding Drosnin’s belief in and desire to retrieve a mystical obelisk in the Dead Sea, this demonstrates how God can and will send people on wild goose chases.
Rip’s decoding program discovered the mystical obelisk Drosnin desired to behold. Drosnin however, did not realize that God spoke using clever metaphors and symbols.
The lesson is that it takes far more than a common education and knowledge of history and religion to comprehend the sentences presented by the Bible Code.
One must have comprehensive understanding of many subjects including prophecy, the New Testament, Masonic architecture, the Great Pyramid, Solomon’s Temple, the Holy Days, etc., etc., etc.
Drosnin, an atheist and opportunist, was capitalizing on something sacred that was given by God to the humble Eli Rips.
Drosnin’s limited knowledge-base lead him to comical interpretations of sentences the Bible Code presented.
If he had lived to finance an archeological excavation in the Dead Sea, he would have lost all the money he made off Eli Rip’s work.
There is no obelisk in the Dead Sea. But there is a God that who can make a fool of any who follow the example of Baal the prophet.

Between comments 6 and 8, we’ve covered two minutes on the “sucker born every minute” scale. Somewhere out there lurk many, many more suckers.

  • Ervey Rodriguez Jr

Anyone who does’nt believe that there are far more intelectual beings other than human is naive. We are one solar system and minut doesnt fully describe how tiny in significance we truly are. Some of the posts on this page have been posted by premature adolescents and uneducated non believers in faith. People who have never even read the bible or know the story of Jesus, ‘the Passion of the Christ’ is not the bible. Well I believe in god and I also believe that god can do anything. The code is real. Slash …….. c’mon. Idiots.

only one planet with life…all water in the vastness of space came from earth… all asteroids, comets (ice), and meteors came from earth… human kind is only one. more ? You might be asking how did the water get into space … answer… the flood… book says… all the fountains of the deep broke forth… earth imploded/collapsed in on itself pressurizing water under rock causing the geo-formations like the Mid Atlantic Ridge… where the water first shot out and peeled back the original crust to form the basin (atlantic ocean now)… notice the mountian chain north and south america mimmics the mid atlantic ridge… same for europe and africa’s mountains… all evidence of the flood… all fossils… all the oil … all the coal… formed in the flood… 4400 years ago… there is no such thing as millions of years, or pre-historic… humankind here only for about 8000 years … somebody has been keeping a record all along don’t you think…? History=”His story”…

Thanks for that explanation, Charles, everything makes so much more sense now…
