It’s that time of year when the chill in the frosty air brings us indoors to hunker down with thick comforters and mugs of steaming hot chocolate overflowing with fluffy marshmallows. When holiday music and movies become the soundtrack to our everyday home lives. When we gather ‘round the fire for company, drink, food and love. When we are celebrating and remembering those we treasure and hold near and dear. When the real meaning of the season is family – by our DNA or by our heart. When we reflect and give thanks for all we have. In a nutshell, unconditional love.
I’d like to welcome Kari Lee Townsend to share the beauty of the season with us.
Favorite Holiday tradition?
Decorating the Christmas tree. I have the kids cart out all the boxes from the basement, and we decorate the tree together. That's when I put on Christmas music for the first time, and it really puts me in the spirit.
Favorite childhood toy?
A bike. I loved to be outside and ride bikes with my friends. There was something so freeing about that. Loved the wind in my hair and feeling alive. Probably why I love my husband's motorcycle so much :-)
Favorite childhood game?
Hide and seek. I especially loved playing hide and seek at night. There was something so thrilling and exciting about sneaking around in the dark.

Snow ball fight or making snow families?
Snow ball fight all the way. Hey, I have three boys and only one girl. What can I say? My house is very active and competitive.
Sleigh rides, sledding or skiing?
Skiing. My husband and boys are in a ski club in school. I used to ski all the time, and will once more when my daughter joins ski club next year.
Favorite Holiday song?
“Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.” I love the lively beat, and it's just plain fun.
Favorite holiday movie?
Home Alone. I love watching that with my kids. So much fun.
